2026-04-18 - Weight Loss Results

Remember, losing weight means:

  • No more joint pain.
  • Easier to get up/down stairs.
  • New clothes.
  • Socialize more.
  • Travel more.

  • ✅ #05: 🥋 Complete Shaolin.Online! I completed the first workbook while at Benino’s this morning. The result?
    • Shaolin Temple Europe “12-month Self-Mastery Course”
    • Q: What bad habits do I have that I want to give up?
      • 1) I need to lose weight
      • 2) I want to be stronger and more flexible
      • 3) I want to be happier
      • 4) I want to me more content with life’s journey
    • Q: Is there something I can do to achieve mastery?
      • I think to achieve Mastery I need to embrace the “Power of Now” (as Eckhart Tolle would call it). Be present each and every moment, without regrets or worries, and satisfied with the journey life is taking me on.
    • Q: What expectations do you have?
      • Pretty lofty ones actually, so I probably need to trim those back and be more realistic. The chance of me being “grasshopper” from the 1972 Kung Fu tv series has passed. If I can be even a bit happier and healthier, those are great goals to achieve.
    • Q: What is my commitment?
      • I’m going to work through this program till it is done and I get my “Certificate” at the end… 🙂 I can’t promise that I will never miss a day, but I’m committed to working through this course as best I can to achieve “Mastery” as defined.

I started today thinking again about manifestation—specifically something Maggie Murphy said about Neville Goddard. The idea that if you can truly live “in the end,” you don’t actually need the thing itself because you’ve already experienced it internally. That stuck with me and led to a deeper thought: if I could recreate the feeling of something I’ve successfully manifested before and then “copy-paste” that emotional state into something new, maybe that’s the mechanism. Not chasing outcomes, but recreating the state.

Later, I found myself at Benino’s with a coffee, doing exactly that without really trying. Just sitting there, relaxed, present, noticing the sounds, the light, the people. I started watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind on my Amazon Fire Tablet, laptop open beside me, sunlight bouncing off the screen. Someone sat a few tables ahead just doing their own thing. Nothing special, and yet it kind of was. There was an empty chair across from me, but it didn’t feel like something was missing. It just felt like space, and for once, that space didn’t bother me.

2026-04-27 - Nutritional Yeast

Earlier in the day I had stopped at Hughes Groceries and picked up a couple of packages of Bob’s Red Mill nutritional yeast (see photo to the right). Something simple that makes potatoes and vegetables taste better might be the difference between sticking to the AI Diet or not. Mastery, I’m starting to see, isn’t about big dramatic shifts. It’s about these small, aligned decisions.

This evening I reviewed the Motley Fool Epic Portfolio—20 different stocks, each roughly equal weight, about $1,800 per position. Clean, structured, diversified, almost institutional in its design. But it got me thinking. That strategy is built for long-term compounding—five to ten years, no tinkering, just letting it ride—and I had to be honest with myself: that’s not really how I think. I’m watching things like the Strait of Hormuz, global tensions, oil flows, AI cycles, semiconductors. I’m already sitting on a massive NVDA position. My instinct is to analyze, adjust, optimize. So the question becomes whether I follow a system like this exactly or adapt it to how I actually operate.

I also looked at a few individual stocks to understand what’s moving right now. Manhattan Associates stood out as the biggest drop since late February among a group I was reviewing, down around 8–10%. Not an AI darling, not flashy, just steady enterprise software. And that raised another question: am I looking for quiet compounders or big movers? Because those are two very different paths. By the end of the day, what stands out isn’t any one insight, but the pattern—sitting quietly with a coffee, watching a movie without urgency, making small, practical food choices, thinking about long-term investing versus short-term instincts, letting a moment feel complete without needing to change it. And maybe that’s what this Shaolin course is really about—not becoming “Grasshopper,” but becoming a little more present, a little more aligned, a little more aware of how I actually move through the world.
