📋Additional Daily Notes

2026-04-26 - Black Beans & Hummus

Today was one of those quiet but meaningful days where a lot of small things added up to something bigger. I started the day continuing my “AI Diet v2.0” approach, sticking with my “forever plate” concept but adding black beans into the mix for a bit of variety without blowing up the calories. It felt like a smart adjustment—same system, just enough change to keep things sustainable. I’m realizing more and more that this whole thing isn’t about intensity, it’s about repeatability. You can see my black bean and hummus combo in the photo to the right.

At some point today I also finally got around to trying out the haircutting kit I bought a couple of weeks ago. It came with that reverse mirror setup for the back of the head, which honestly felt a bit awkward at first, but I went for it. The result? Not perfect, but definitely better than before—and more importantly, not something anyone is going to laugh at. That was really the goal.

Later on, I found myself at McDonald’s, which has become a bit of a regular base of operations for me lately. I was about halfway through the Shaolin.online intro video, listening to the discussion about Daoist and Confucian influences. It tied into something I’ve been thinking about a lot—this idea of discipline mixed with flow. Not forcing things, but also not drifting. There’s something there that feels very aligned with what I’ve been trying to build in my own life.

While sitting there, I also watched a video from Maggie Murphy (Neville Goddess) about imaginal acts and the “state of the wish fulfilled.” That one hit me pretty hard. The key takeaway was that most people are doing it wrong—they’re trying to use imagination to get something, when really it’s about reaching a state where it already feels done. That idea of being “100% okay without it, but knowing it will happen” came back again, and I can see how that connects to everything—from weight loss to relationships to life in general.

I checked my numbers today and saw that I’m up to 128 subscribers, with 4 new ones just today. The open rate is sitting at 66.67% and click rate at 24.73%, which are apparently very strong. That was a bit of a wake-up moment. It made me realize that I’m not just waiting around for life to happen—I’m actually building something. Slowly, yes, but with real engagement.

So today ended up being about more than just diet tweaks, a haircut, and a couple of videos. It was about seeing patterns. Systems. The idea that instead of chasing outcomes—whether it’s weight loss, money, or relationships—I might be better off focusing on building a stable, repeatable life that works on its own.

And maybe that’s the real “state of the wish fulfilled”… not getting everything I want, but getting to a place where I don’t feel like anything is missing.
