- #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Today ended up being one of those days where what I was thinking about became almost as important as what I was actually doing.
I got out today and one of my stops was Driftwood Restaurant, where I had Chinese food. It was definitely a change from the sort of eating I’ve been talking about lately, but in a strange way it fit right into where my thoughts eventually went. Food—and specifically my relationship with food—became one of the major subjects of the day. They had a robot that dispenses fortune cookies. You can see my fortune in the photo to the right.
I also spent a considerable amount of time working with my collection of AI tools and trying to figure out how they should all fit together. I’ve accumulated quite the toolbox now: ChatGPT, HeyGen, TalkingPhotos, VideoExpress, Artistly, CloneVoice, HumanPal and HumanBot among them. Rather than continuing to test everything endlessly, I’m increasingly interested in figuring out which tool does each job best and then actually making something. I used various API keys to integrate the products.
I spent time today reading Andrew Taylor’s Spud Fit material and thinking again about his potato experiment. One thing really resonated with me: he wasn’t merely trying to lose weight. He wanted to stop spending so much of his life thinking about food. He deliberately created very simple rules so there was little room for the constant internal negotiation about what he should eat.
That sounds remarkably familiar.
I’ve proven that I can follow a diet. I’ve followed my AI Diet Plan v1.04 for long stretches, and I can follow something like Andrew’s plan for months. My problem seems to arrive at around the 100-day mark. Eventually I want pizza again.
And here’s where something clicked today.
In the past, my solution has often been to figure out how to make the diet more exciting. How can I make a potato hamburger bun? How can I make vegan queso? How can I create something resembling pizza? What sauce can I invent?
But maybe that’s exactly the wrong approach.
If I’m spending all my time trying to make potatoes taste like pizza, pizza is still running the show.
Maybe food doesn’t need to be that exciting.
That produced what may have been my favorite thought of the day:
“I don’t merely need a sustainable menu. I need a life that doesn’t require dinner to be the highlight of the day.”
Make food simple. Make life delicious.
We started designing what a sustainable simple meal might look like: potatoes, beans or lentils, greens and vegetables, some ground flax or chia, perhaps tofu, and maybe one slice of good whole-grain bread because I really do love bread. I don’t necessarily need to train myself not to enjoy bread. The question is whether I can have one slice as an ordinary part of dinner without it triggering the desire for five more.
But the more we talked, the more attracted I became to an even simpler idea.
Potatoes and water.
Perhaps I could do a genuine food reset and continue until I reach a specific milestone—290 pounds—and only then begin experimenting with the broader diet that I could potentially follow permanently.
I could even use the air-fryer potatoes I’ve been making along with the popcorn seasonings I already have. The important rule would be that seasoning remains seasoning. It doesn’t become the beginning of another elaborate recipe.
No potato pizza. No fake hamburger. No elaborate queso. No spending an hour figuring out how to transform potatoes into something they’re not.
Just potatoes, seasoning and water.
And when I reach 290, I don’t celebrate by ordering Domino’s. That’s important. Pizza doesn’t get to be the grand prize.
Instead, reaching 290 begins Phase Two. That’s when I start experimenting with beans, greens, tofu, flax, bread and other simple foods and figure out what my permanent way of eating might look like.
I also realized something today that I’ve noticed before: when I drink approximately a gallon of water during the day, I seem to be much better at staying on my diet. I don’t know exactly why. Maybe it helps with fullness, maybe it gives me something to consume when I otherwise feel like eating, or maybe it’s simply a psychological signal that I’m following my plan.
Whatever the reason, it’s worth paying attention to.
Perhaps the real challenge isn’t getting through the first 100 days.
I’ve already shown that I can do that.
The real experiment begins on Day 101.
Can I get through the point where I normally abandon the plan? Can I allow pizza to stop being the reward waiting at the end? Can I gradually make food less important while making everything else in my life more important?
Maybe I’m trying to learn how to build a life so interesting, loving and fulfilling that dinner can finally just be dinner.
