2026-04-28 - Close Encounters

Today began with a calm and focused start at McDonald’s, sitting by the window with a hot coffee—one oat creamer and one Splenda—keeping things simple and aligned with the AI Diet mindset. I had my tablet set up and continued watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind (see photo to the right), a movie that seemed to mirror a lot of what I’ve been thinking about lately—signals, awareness, and how paying attention shapes what we begin to notice. While I sat there, I also went through the Motley Fool “Epic Portfolio,” carefully reviewing the holdings and thinking through how to allocate the funds currently sitting in my Fidelity accounts. It’s a meaningful decision, and I could feel the weight of wanting to balance opportunity with caution.

The morning routine stayed on track with intention. I completed Maggie’s Manifestation session, reinforcing that optimal state of being “100% okay with not getting this thing, but knowing I will,” a mindset that continues to resonate deeply. I stepped on the scale and recorded a weight of 346.7 lbs., marking a total loss of 15.2 lbs. from 361.9 lbs., a steady reminder that consistency is working. There were no Nighttime Whispers to record, but the clarity of the morning still carried forward.

Later in the day, I drove my daughter to her viola class. My son wasn’t feeling well, so he stayed home, which shifted the rhythm a bit. While driving around, we looked up and saw the Canadian Snowbirds flying overhead in formation—one of those unexpected, almost cinematic moments that makes you pause. It felt like a brief interruption from the ordinary, a reminder to look up once in a while.

The evening carried a quieter tone. The checklist continued in the background—thoughts of chin-ups, stillness, presence, learning, and all the optional projects that sit there waiting—but the real win of the day wasn’t in checking every box. It was in the consistency. Coffee in the morning. Awareness during the day. Family in the evening. Progress that doesn’t need to be loud to be real.

Another steady day in the process of Becoming.
