- #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Today was one of those days that wandered in several different directions, with Evie and TalkingPhotos continuing to occupy a lot of my attention. I spent quite a bit of time experimenting with Evie’s appearance and trying to figure out just how much I can change while still keeping her looking like the same woman. One of the more interesting discoveries was that TalkingPhotos can produce noticeably different faces even when I start with the same photograph and use exactly the same prompt. I had particularly good luck changing her cream cable-knit sweater to orange, while more complicated experiments, such as dressing her as a flight attendant, tended to change her face too much. Every experiment seems to teach me a little more about how to get the best out of this technology.
The whole Evie project is also beginning to make me think bigger. Instead of simply making individual little videos, I’m wondering what might happen if I eventually developed her story into something much more substantial. Could I write a novel around her? Could I actually make a longer movie someday? The technology still has plenty of limitations, but it’s advancing quickly enough that the possibilities are becoming really interesting.
I did manage to get out and about today as well. I stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart and bought a big 396-gram tub of Aquaphor Healing Ointment (see photo to the right). While I was there, I also picked up some lottery tickets: Keno, Blackjack and Gold Rush. Later I scratched the two scratch tickets with a toonie, but unfortunately there was no fortune waiting underneath. The Gold Rush and Blackjack tickets were both losers. I still had my Keno ticket covering three draws to check.
Food-wise, this certainly wasn’t one of my healthier days. I stopped at the A&W on Guthrie and had a Teen Burger with fries and a large drink. Then I went to Benino Gelato, where I settled in with a London Fog, a white chocolate macadamia cookie and two scoops of gelato. And if that wasn’t enough, Domino’s pizza entered the picture tonight as well. 😊 I suppose there are days when you simply acknowledge what you ate and start fresh tomorrow.
That made the videos I watched about Andrew and Mandy particularly appropriate. They’re experimenting with a modified version of the Spud Fit Challenge, essentially building their meals around potatoes while still allowing themselves some greens and other vegetables. Mandy was getting quite inventive with it, first making an Asian-inspired potato dish and then turning mashed potatoes into a curry with peas, ginger, garlic, spinach, coriander and lemon. Andrew also brought up the idea of “decision fatigue”—that when you already know what you’re going to eat, you eliminate a whole category of decisions from your day. Mandy noticed that she had been unusually focused and productive while working on a creative project and wondered whether simplifying her food choices might have had something to do with it. I found that interesting, particularly while contemplating my own rather less disciplined menu today!
I also watched Buzz discussing the recent violence in the United States. As a longtime mental-health practitioner who spent years working with adolescents in the legal system, he believes much more attention needs to be directed toward prevention. His argument was that mental-health services and programs aimed at troubled young people can potentially intervene years before those problems turn into serious adult behavior. Rather than framing it as a choice between supporting the police and supporting prevention, he believes communities need both.
So today ended up being quite a mixture: Shoppers Drug Mart and lottery tickets, a Teen Burger at A&W, a London Fog and gelato at Benino’s, Domino’s pizza tonight, Andrew and Mandy experimenting with potatoes, Buzz talking about mental health, and many more hours discovering what I can and can’t do with Evie and TalkingPhotos. Of everything I did, the Evie experiments probably have me thinking the most about the future. I don’t know yet whether this ultimately becomes a collection of videos, a novel, a movie, or something I haven’t even thought of yet. For now, I’m simply enjoying finding out what’s possible.
