- #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes
Today had one of those quiet, reflective rhythms that I seem to appreciate more and more as I get older. While waiting in the parking lot to pick up my daughter, I found myself simply watching the world around me. It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day, and my eyes settled on a tree with ants busily making their way up and down the trunk. Somehow that tiny scene transported me back to the very first episode of Kung Fu, where Caine talks about how alive the world really is if you stop long enough to notice it. The insects, the sounds, the life that’s constantly unfolding around us. It made me wonder what my own life might have been like had I followed those kinds of teachings instead of going so deeply into organized religion. Then again, every road taken shapes the one that follows, and perhaps all of it had its place.

As always, I spent a little time talking to the Universe. I gave thanks for another day. I asked for a few little winks along the way, for help sticking to day two of my one-meal-a-day wrap diet, for happiness, excitement, and maybe—just maybe—for the mysterious Bridge of Incidents to one day lead me to … More than anything, I asked simply to be present and to enjoy the journey.
The newsletter went out right on schedule this morning at 7:00 a.m., and shortly afterward one of our subscribers, Jonathan, kindly pointed out that we’d missed what was probably the biggest event of the weekend: the FIFA World Cup Watch Party. Rather than seeing it as a mistake, I found myself encouraged that someone cared enough to write in. It reinforced an idea I’ve been thinking about—that the newsletter should really become a community effort, with readers sending in events and hidden gems that deserve to be shared.
One of the more curious moments of the day happened while I was walking into McDonald’s this evening. Lately I’ve been thinking that my little “coin winks” from the Universe have become less frequent, and as I looked down expecting nothing in particular, something shiny caught my eye. It wasn’t a quarter or a toonie at all, but what appeared to be a small oval rhinestone or decorative gem lying on the sidewalk (see photo to the right). Nearby were a couple of similar pieces that looked as though they’d fallen from a piece of jewelry or clothing. Was it a wink from the Universe? I honestly don’t know. It could have been nothing more than a random object reflecting the sunlight at just the right angle. But then again, perhaps that’s the point. The practice isn’t really about the object itself—it’s about paying attention. Looking down. Remaining aware. Staying open to surprise and wonder in ordinary places. Whether coincidence or something more, it made me smile.
As I think back on today, that’s what stands out most. A subscriber helping improve a newsletter. A shiny little object on the sidewalk that briefly transformed an ordinary walk into a moment of curiosity. None of it was earth-shattering, and yet somehow all of it felt quietly meaningful. Maybe that’s what life has been trying to teach me all along—not to wait for the spectacular, but to notice the extraordinary that’s already hiding inside the ordinary.
