So, keep motivated! Here goes:

- ✅ #06: ☕ Over AM Coffee, say Terje’s Script! (*** NOTES ***) (9:31 am!)
- #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes
The morning began, as so many of my mornings do these days, with a coffee at McDonald’s and another conversation with the Universe. Sitting there at 9:31 a.m., I found myself feeling genuinely grateful—for my health, for my family, for the financial security I’ve been blessed with, for the opportunities in front of me, and for the people who have unexpectedly entered my life lately. I thanked the Universe for Martin Knopfler and, perhaps more accurately, for the inspiration that his playing has given me. I also found myself thanking it for Chad, Amy, and for all of the little nudges and winks that seem to appear when I’m paying attention.
One of those little nudges may have happened almost immediately.

As I walked into McDonald’s, I noticed a small gray plastic cap lying on the ground (see photo to the right). Normally I would have walked right past it, but something about it caught my attention. For the past few days I’ve been trying to solve a very practical problem: the screw for one of my cabinet knobs is either too short at one inch or too long at an inch and a half. Looking at this little gray cap, I suddenly wondered if it might serve as a tiny spacer or washer to make the longer screw work perfectly. It even had a hole through the middle. Whether coincidence or wink, I smiled and picked it up. Sometimes life seems to whisper in the smallest ways.
Much of the day, however, was consumed by a completely different obsession.
For years I’ve admired Mark Knopfler’s performance of Sultans of Swing from the Alchemy Live concert, but today that admiration turned into something more deliberate. I called Long & McQuade and spoke first with Ryan and later with Amanda about guitar lessons. Amanda mentioned a couple of experienced teachers, reminded me not to judge based on age, and even pointed out that one of their younger instructors knows Sultans well. I jokingly explained that I wasn’t sure I had enough years left to spend learning Beethoven before finally getting around to the song I actually wanted to play.
That conversation sparked something much bigger.
What started as a simple discussion about learning one song gradually transformed into the outline of what may become one of the defining projects of my retirement: The Sultans Project.
The realization was surprisingly profound. The goal isn’t really to learn Sultans of Swing. The goal is to become the kind of musician who can naturally play it beautifully. Somewhere during our long conversations today, the philosophy itself began to emerge. Don’t chase speed. Chase beauty. Don’t obsess over complicated solos. Learn to make one note sound beautiful. Never sacrifice beauty for speed. Never advance because of impatience. Advance because the previous lesson has become part of who you are.
We even began outlining what could eventually become an entire book—perhaps two hundred pages or more—documenting the journey of an old left-handed guitarist trying to become the musician he always wanted to be. The first lesson isn’t scales. It isn’t chords. It isn’t finger exercises. It’s simply called “One Beautiful Note.”
The second lesson became equally simple and equally profound: learning to let the thumb, index finger, and middle finger work together naturally, quietly becoming three musicians having a conversation rather than three independent body parts awkwardly trying to cooperate.
As the discussion evolved, something else became clear. Maybe I don’t need ninety minutes of daily practice. Maybe ten or fifteen minutes of focused, joyful attention is enough. Enough to build consistency. Enough to make me want to come back tomorrow. Enough to slowly accumulate hundreds of meaningful hours over the coming years without ever making the project feel like a burden.
Along the way we also found ourselves discussing my Already Becoming YouTube channel and a possible new video based on my recent visit to Stedmans Department Store in Parksville. The surprising conclusion was that the video shouldn’t really be about the store at all. It should be about what the store represents—a quiet place, content simply being itself in a world constantly demanding novelty and speed. That idea resonated with me far more deeply than I expected.
A tiny gray plastic cap.
A conversation about guitar lessons.
An old department store.
And somewhere in the middle of it all, the quiet realization that perhaps becoming isn’t about racing toward some distant destination at all.
Perhaps it’s simply about learning to make one beautiful note today…
and then coming back tomorrow to make another.
