📋Additional Daily Notes


The morning started with my usual conversation with the Universe. It was one of those overcast Comox Valley days that I actually enjoy, and I found myself simply expressing gratitude for being alive and getting another chance to experience this strange, beautiful life—for the good and the bad. I thanked the Universe for everything that’s already come my way and looked forward with optimism to whatever blessings are still unfolding as I continue trying to live “in the end.”

I also found myself asking for one of my little winks again—a found coin or some other happy surprise. I thanked the Universe for yesterday’s adorable baby deer, which genuinely made me smile, and imagined financial abundance, a happy family, good health, and a deep sense of contentment.

Today was also the first official day of my new OMAD Wrap Diet. Rather than diving into an extremely restrictive schedule, I’ve decided to begin with an eight-hour eating window from 4:00 p.m. until midnight and adjust it over time if necessary. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s sustainability and consistency.

Around lunchtime I headed over to Home Depot to pick up supplies for a mountain bike ramp I wanted to build for my son. David was kind enough to cut many of the pieces to size for me, saving me a tremendous amount of work and making the whole project much easier.

There was also a little integrity test waiting for me. After loading everything into the car, I noticed a metal ruler hidden underneath the cart that hadn’t been scanned or charged for. It was about a twenty-dollar item, and it would have been easy to simply drive away. Instead, I wheeled the cart back inside and paid for it. I even asked the cashier how often that happens, and he laughed and said, “Not very often.” It wasn’t a huge event, but it felt good to quietly do the right thing.

While all this was going on, several of my Fidelity limit orders triggered as well, adding positions including Amazon, Cloudflare, Honeywell, and QXO, while IBM quietly paid another dividend. My investing philosophy continues to be one of patiently planting seeds and letting time do the heavy lifting.

Once my son got home from school, we spent the afternoon building the mountain bike ramp together. Honestly, that was probably the highlight of the day. The finished ramp was nice, but the real value was simply working side by side, solving little problems together, and creating something with our own hands. Those ordinary moments with your kids have a way of becoming some of life’s best memories.

Later on, I took the kids to Triple O’s for the very first time. Burgers, fries, drinks, and the famous Triple O’s sauce made for a fun little family outing and a nice reward after the afternoon’s project. Nothing fancy—just another simple moment spent together.

Food-wise, I’m really pleased with how the first day of the new eating plan went. I didn’t eat until 4:00 p.m. and stayed within my planned eating window until midnight. I enjoyed wraps filled with potatoes, beans, hummus, and vegetables, along with some surprisingly delicious yogurt wraps made with Greek yogurt, bananas, and berries. The only miss was my water intake—I didn’t get my full two liters in—so that’s something I’ll improve tomorrow.
