- #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes
Wednesday began with a sunny morning in the Comox Valley and the usual school run. After dropping my daughter off at school, I stopped at A&W and picked up an All-Canadian Breakfast, a Bacon & Egger sandwich and a large double-double coffee. I brought everything back home and ate in the Barn Suite while spending some time editing my Evie pictures.
Food continues to be something I’m thinking about quite a bit. I watched another Andrew Taylor video about his potato experiment, and one thing he said really struck me: the experiment wasn’t actually about potatoes. Andrew chose potatoes because they removed almost all of the decisions surrounding food. If he was hungry, he ate potatoes. There was no wondering what to order, what to cook or what treat he deserved. That simplicity gave him enough mental space to begin examining why he had been using food for comfort and emotional support in the first place.
I particularly liked his point that we don’t necessarily have to fix every unpleasant emotion. Sometimes you’re sad. Sometimes you’ve had a lousy day. Maybe instead of immediately reaching for pizza or chocolate cake to make the feeling disappear, you simply experience the feeling and let it pass. That’s something worth thinking about given my own ongoing attempts to figure out my relationship with food.
I also watched a video from Buzz about living in the Philippines. His basic message was generosity. He talked about giving restaurant workers, security guards, valets and motor-cab drivers relatively small tips and how much those little amounts could mean to people. He mentioned sometimes giving 100 pesos, which I checked and discovered is only about $2.24 Canadian. His larger point wasn’t simply that tipping resulted in better service, although he certainly experienced that. It was about recognizing that an amount which seems insignificant to a Westerner can mean considerably more to somebody earning local wages.
At 3:36 this afternoon I did my Universe check-in. I was looking ahead to meeting Wes at Starbucks in Courtenay sometime around 5:00 or 5:30. Wes always has interesting things to talk about, and apparently September 23 has all sorts of strange references associated with it in Hollywood. I figured we’d probably end up discussing that, UFOs over Iran, aliens, following your bliss and whatever else happened to come up.
My Universe conversation became considerably more serious than that, though. I admitted that I’m weary. I’ve spent much of my life trying to be a good person and trying to create the sort of life I’ve wanted, and at my age there’s a part of me wondering whether I’m ever actually going to get there. Maybe all this trying isn’t the answer. Maybe knowing what I want, believing in it and allowing it to come is closer to what I’ve been looking for.
I finished with a thought I really want to remember: Help this be the first moment of the first day of the rest of my life, where bliss is here now.

Maybe that’s the point. I don’t necessarily have to wait for some enormous event to announce that the rest of my life has begun. It could begin at 3:36 on an ordinary sunny Wednesday afternoon.
And with that, it was finally time to head out and meet Wes. Courtenay Starbucks Coffee (see photo to the right). UFOs. Aliens. Cats staring into mirrors. September 23. Following your bliss. Possibly figuring out the meaning of life before Starbucks closes at 8:00.
Just another Wednesday evening in the Comox Valley.
Oh, and I still had one additional assignment for the Universe.
A toonie.
You never know.
Later tonight, after everything else, I did a little more experimenting with CloneVoice.ai. I wanted some completely neutral material for testing the cloned voice—so I settled on five wonderfully random sentences about an old bicycle in the rain, a yellow umbrella beside a coffee machine, a computer mysteriously restarting at 3:17, the smell of fresh bread outside a bakery, and three ducks patiently waiting outside a hardware store.
Sometimes sophisticated artificial-intelligence research involves interdimensional cats.
Sometimes it involves ducks at a hardware store.
Both seem perfectly reasonable to me.
