Today felt like one of those strange modern days where old television shows, AI, future planning, spirituality, investing, and ordinary moments at McDonald’s all somehow blended together into one long stream of thought. Early in the day I found myself thinking again about age, purpose, companionship, and whether life still has another meaningful chapter ahead for me. I recorded another one of my “Universe” conversations, talking honestly about being grateful for what I have while also admitting that I’m exhausted sometimes and still hoping for connection, meaning, health, healing, etc. I talked about wanting more “winks” from the universe — little signs or synchronicities that remind me I’m not completely alone in all this and that maybe my path is still unfolding in ways I can’t fully see yet.

A lot of today revolved around investing and trying to think clearly about the future. We spent time looking at my stocks, especially names like Symbotic, Cloudflare, Alphabet, and The Trade Desk, trying to determine whether the recent market weakness represented danger or opportunity. Eventually we corrected the numbers and looked realistically at possible limit-order levels and whether any of these stocks truly screamed “buy more” over the next couple of weeks. It felt like a reminder that even in this age of AI you still have to stay alert and think critically for yourself.

At one point today I drifted into nostalgia mode and started watching Season 1, Episode 2 of The Beverly Hillbillies. That led to a whole discussion about the Clampetts’ $25 million oil fortune and what that would actually mean today. At first inflation calculators suggested around $270 million in modern dollars, but that didn’t quite feel right to me because socially and culturally that kind of money in 1962 represented something closer to billionaire status in the public imagination.

Later in the day I found myself exploring the Philippines rabbit hole again. I watched some videos from Philippines lifestyle vloggers and thought about Makati, Gramercy Residences, Iloilo City, etc.

2026-05-12 - McD Black Coffee

One of the biggest highlights of today was seeing the spreadsheet system evolve. I showed the old 2008 “Fix House” spreadsheet with the calendar-based progress tracking system, and it became obvious that I had accidentally created something much bigger than a simple to-do list years ago. We transformed that idea into a new “Becoming System” spreadsheet that tracks AI Diet progress, Universe logs, YouTube projects, investment research, family goals, and long-term destiny planning all within the same visual framework. Seeing the colored progress blocks laid out across the days of the month actually excited me. Yellow blocks represented lighter maintenance progress, red blocks represented deep focused work sessions, orange represented moderate effort, and green represented major milestones completed. It suddenly felt less like a task list and more like a visual map of my life accumulating over time.

This evening I ended up at McDonald’s again with a black coffee (see photo to the right), sitting quietly while staring at those giant chocolate brownie muffins behind the glass. A few years ago I probably would have bought one automatically without thinking much about it. Tonight it felt different. I found myself seeing it not just as food, but as calories, consequences, momentum, and choices. The black coffee itself felt symbolic somehow — almost like discipline, reflection, routine, and calmness all in one paper cup. I sat there thinking about life systems, old TV shows, AI, spreadsheets, future plans, manifestation, investing, and whether maybe the real point of all this is simply to keep putting one foot in front of the other and continue Becoming.

By the end of the day I realized that despite all the uncertainty, I’m still imagining futures. I’m still building systems. I’m still creating videos, planning projects, thinking about charity, trying to heal my leg, researching investments, watching old television, exploring AI, and hoping for connection. Maybe that in itself means something. Maybe the fact that I’m still curious about life means the story isn’t finished yet.
