📋Additional Daily Notes
Today ended up being one of those unplanned family days where the normal rhythm gets shifted around a bit. My son stayed home sick after yesterday’s track and field day, and I’m wondering if maybe he got a bit of heat stroke or something from being out in the sun too long. While he rested at home, I took my daughter to school for a couple of hours. We drove around a bit afterward and spent some time together before later heading out for her violin lesson. On the way home I picked up Wendy’s for both the kids and brought supper back for them.

This evening I went out to close the chickens in for the night and realized one of them was missing. I checked around the paddock and couldn’t find it anywhere. For a few minutes I thought maybe it had somehow gotten out, but eventually I went inside the coop area and found it quietly sitting in the nesting area the whole time.
Later tonight I ran into another mystery when I couldn’t find my car keys (see photo to the right). I searched around the house, checked the car, and even went back outside near the barn suite where I usually park. Nothing. Eventually I gave up and decided I’d deal with it tomorrow. But after climbing into bed, I sort of said to the Universe, “Help me figure out where they are.” Almost immediately the thought came into my mind that maybe they had slipped into the side of the Lazy Boy where I had been sitting watching TV earlier. Sure enough, I got up, checked the side of the chair, and there they were.
Funny enough, looking back on the day now, it almost felt like the theme of the entire day was misplaced things eventually being found again. The missing chicken. The forgotten clothes. The lost keys. Nothing dramatic, just ordinary life unfolding in small unexpected ways.
