2026-05-05 - McHappy Day

Today felt quieter and more reflective than some recent days — less about big events and more about trying to simplify things and take better care of myself physically and mentally.

This evening I went to McDonald’s and had a coffee. The place felt different tonight because it was McHappy Day (see photo to the right). There were balloons everywhere throughout the restaurant, families coming and going, and a kind of upbeat community energy in the air. Meanwhile, I was sitting there quietly thinking about my health, routines, and the direction I want my life to go. It was an interesting contrast — bright balloons and noise all around me while I sat there reflecting on Becoming and trying to simplify my life.

A big part of today revolved around my knee. It’s been bothering me enough lately that I started wondering if maybe part of the issue is actually happening while I sleep. I began thinking about whether I’m twisting it during the night, putting pressure on it, or whether my mattress just isn’t supporting me properly anymore. That led me into researching pillows between the knees, side-sleeper alignment, mattress firmness, and ways to reduce strain naturally instead of just masking the pain.

Food and weight loss were another major focus today. I found myself drifting back toward the simplicity that helped me during the successful phase of the AI Diet v1.0. I started exploring whether I could lose the most weight by eating mainly egg whites, tomatoes, and pickles, or whether potatoes with nutritional yeast would work better long term. The more I thought about it, the more I realized the real challenge probably isn’t finding the “perfect” food — it’s finding something simple enough that I can realistically repeat for months.

That eventually led me to the idea of making an air fryer egg white omelette with tomatoes and pickles. I spent time figuring out how it would actually work — temperatures, moisture from the pickles, cooking times, and how to keep the egg whites from turning rubbery. Oddly enough, it started sounding less like a temporary “diet food” and more like one of those simple repeatable meals that could become part of my long-term routine.

I also found myself thinking again about the manifestation and perception work I’ve been exploring lately. A few days ago I bought the Spirit Lab Scripts from Terje Nordkvelle, and today I was reflecting on some of those ideas again — especially the focus on awareness, perception, and noticing the small “winks” that happen throughout life. It fits with where my mind seems to be lately: less focused on dramatic overnight changes and more interested in small shifts that compound over time.

Even my technology frustrations today somehow fit the overall theme. I ran into that strange “unusual activity detected” warning on my iPhone, which interrupted my connection for a while and became another little reminder of how modern life is full of tiny interruptions and friction points.

Overall, today felt like a recalibration day. Nothing flashy. Nothing dramatic. Just me trying to quietly tune the machine — my body, my routines, my eating, my sleep, and my mindset — while sitting beneath balloons at McHappy Day with a coffee in hand, continuing the slow process of Becoming.
