📋Additional Daily Notes
Today had one of those steady, reflective rhythms that seem to be becoming more common for me lately. It started off with my usual intention to stay on track—both with my diet and my overall Becoming process—but as the day unfolded, it took on a bit of a different tone. Early this afternoon, around 12:30 p.m., I found myself at McDonald’s, sitting quietly with a coffee.
The headlines were focused on Iran and the situation there heating up again. It didn’t feel like background noise—it felt like something real, something potentially important. At the same time, everything around me was calm. The restaurant was quiet, just one guy sitting in the background doing his own thing, and there I was with my coffee, just observing. It struck me how two completely different realities can exist at once—the world potentially moving toward conflict, and me sitting there in stillness, thinking things through.
Earlier in the day, I had placed limit orders for a number of stocks, as per the Motley Fool, continuing with my approach of letting the market come to me instead of chasing it. That moment in McDonald’s felt like the natural follow-up to that decision—no urgency, no panic, just watching to see how things unfold. I’m starting to notice that this environment—coffee, a quiet table, time to think—is becoming a kind of consistent space for decision-making. It’s not random anymore. It’s a place where I sit, observe, and process.
At the same time, I’ve been dealing with something physical that’s been nagging at me. My leg has been throbbing constantly, and I honestly don’t know where it’s coming from. It crossed my mind whether something like that could even happen during sleep—whether I might have twisted something or irritated the area around my knee replacement without realizing it. It’s uncomfortable enough that I’m planning to head to Costco to pick up some diclofenac gel and see if that helps. It’s one of those things that pulls your attention back into the body, even when your mind is focused elsewhere.
On a completely different note, I also came across something interesting today that felt like one of those small but noticeable alignments. I discovered that there’s a Seventh-day Adventist Church right near Vanier High School—where my daughter goes. Not somewhere out of the way, but right in the middle of my regular routine. Given everything I’ve been exploring lately—Neville, manifestation, the idea of testing things rather than just believing them—it stood out. Not as something to jump to conclusions about, but as something to notice. Something that would be easy to act on if I chose to.

This evening, after going to Costco to get some voltaren cream, I went to McD where I enjoyed a coffee while watching “World News Tonight” (see photo to the right). Voltaren (diclofenac) is a topical, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat muscle and joint pain, particularly from arthritis, sprains, and strains. ChatGPT tells me that it will work wonders on my sore knee, which is throbbing as of late!
I also purchased a program today called “The 7 Scripts,” which is based on the idea that speaking specific sentences out loud can lead to faster responses from what the creator calls your “spirit team.” What appealed to me wasn’t the promise, but the structure. It’s simple, repeatable, and testable—one script a day for seven days. That fits well with how I’ve been approaching things lately: not blindly accepting ideas, but running experiments and seeing what actually happens.
Looking back on the day, there’s a common thread running through all of it. Whether it’s the markets, the news, my physical health, or even these spiritual experiments, I’m not reacting the way I might have in the past. I’m sitting with things more. Observing. Letting them unfold a bit before acting. It doesn’t mean I have everything figured out—far from it—but it does feel like I’m operating from a slightly different place.
It wasn’t a dramatic day. No big breakthroughs, no major events. But in a way, that’s what made it meaningful. It felt like a day of quiet positioning—physically, mentally, and maybe even spiritually—just sitting in the middle of things and paying attention.
And sometimes, that’s enough.
