Daily Notes
It’s kind of a slow day for me in Courtenay today. After having appointments on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I thought that I would just chill today. How? I went to Rick’s All Day Diner in Courtenay with my Amazon Fire 10 Tablet in hand to just chill and relax!
By the way, we had two eggs this morning, one on the lower birth and one on the top birth. I’m not sure what that’s all about? There are four locations for the chickens to lay eggs, so why not just make it easy on yourself and lay your egg on the one on the ground floor? Why fly up to the second level? Having said that, I have heard that chickens will lay eggs all over the place, and sometimes owners will find them by accident… Go figure what goes on in the mind of a chicken!
Oh, I should mention that I got up late today… 🙂 I showed up at Rick’s at about 1 pm! The waitress gave me the table in the corner, and I was debating on whether to have a great breakfast, or their “All You Can Eat” fish special. Well, the “Fish Special” won! (see photo to the right). Oh, and coffee!
I started off by reading a bit of “The Choice” by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, pages 41 to 48 to be exact. They had free wi-fi at Rick’s, but it was not very good, so I was unable to watch some of the “Law of Attraction” and “Abraham Hicks” videos that I had planned to watch. I was however able to check a lottery ticket that I found in my wallet… 🙂 It was a Virginia Powerball lottery ticket, and alas, it didn’t win! (see phot to the left).
Well, Rick’s unfortunately didn’t impress me! The “All You Can Eat” fish special was expensive, and it took forever for the waitress to bring me the fish. When she did, it was very greasy! What’s the point of having all you can eat fish if it takes so long to get them you eventually get tired and leave? To their credit, there was unlimited coffee, but getting refills was slow as well. Alas, not impressed.
This afternoon we saw a moving van at our neighbors house (see photo to the right). I’m told that they have some kids a bit younger than my son, so perhaps they were waiting for school to end before the move? At any rate, if there are going to be more kids in the neighborhood for my son to play with, so much the better.
My wife has been having problems with the marble countertop in the kitchen. This is where her work computer is, and the marble is cold to the touch and difficult for her to work on. As a result, she cut some clear plastic as an overlay. The remaining plastic was used as a floor protector for her chair.
This evening was the first Trump/Biden Debate. I watched it in “The Main House” with my daughter and son. My wife couldn’t stomach it. My son soon lost interest, but my daughter and I watched it to the end. It was sad on so many levels, but I’ll just leave it at that. My wife made some pizza for us to enjoy, which is more than I can say for the debate.
