📋Additional Daily Notes

Today turned out to be a pretty interesting Saturday, and things seemed to be looking up for me a little bit. One of the fun things involved the lottery tickets I’ve been playing around with. I still had the $4 winning Blackjack ticket that I’d bought at the Petro-Canada on Horne Road in Qualicum Beach on Wednesday while coming home from Victoria. Today I took it into the Petro-Canada at Ryan and Anderton and cashed it in. Rather than simply taking the $4, I got another $2 Blackjack ticket and a $1 Gold Rush ticket, which left me with a loonie.

2026-08-29 - A $15 Winner!

The Gold Rush ticket didn’t win anything, but the Blackjack ticket won me a free $2 ticket. So I went back inside with the winning ticket and my remaining loonie. I exchanged the Blackjack ticket for another $2 Blackjack and used the loonie to buy another $1 Gold Rush. In other words, I still hadn’t put any additional money into this little adventure beyond the $4 winning ticket I’d started the day with.

The second Gold Rush didn’t win anything either, but when I scratched the new Blackjack ticket, things got considerably more interesting. I had three separate hands of 21, and each one paid $5 (see photo to the right). That made the ticket worth $15! So the little Blackjack chain has now gone from the original $4 winner on Wednesday, to a free $2 ticket today, and then to a $15 winner. That’s three Blackjack tickets in succession that have given me something back.

I know, of course, that lottery tickets are random and winning one doesn’t mean I’m somehow more likely to win the next one. Still, it was fun. I even asked ChatGPT to “consult the Universe” and tell me what I should do with my $15 winning ticket. The suggestion was to enjoy the wink rather than make too much of it—perhaps keep $10 and, if I want to continue playing, use $5 of the winnings for another little adventure. I rather liked that idea. The important thing is not to start chasing something just because I’ve had a few wins in succession.

Later today something considerably more meaningful caught my attention. I went to my Law of Attraction Codes website and looked up the very first entry I ever made there. I was surprised by just how vividly I remembered the day shown in the photograph. It really did seem like yesterday.

The entry was Day #0001 — Tuesday, August 29, 2023 — “Welcome To The Journey!”

Then I realized something rather remarkable. Today is August 29, 2026.

Exactly three years ago today I began this journey.

I remember sitting at the Panera on Franklin Street when I wrote that first entry. The booths I preferred were full, so I was sitting at one of the little two-person tables near the window. My coffee and phone were sitting there beside me. I had just downloaded The Magic to my Kindle and read the introduction, and I was planning to begin working through the book’s daily exercises the following day.

Reading what I wrote that afternoon was fascinating. I said that I had been following bits and pieces of the Law of Attraction for years but had never fully understood it, let alone mastered it. I then wrote that this was going to change because I was committed to spending the rest of my life figuring it out. That was the reason I created the blog in the first place. I wanted somewhere to record what happened and hopefully something that would keep me motivated whenever things became rocky or difficult.

I also wrote that I would be blogging about The Magic for the next month or so and ended one paragraph by asking, “Who knows where this journey will take us?” At the very end of the post I wrote, “I’m so excited where this will all take me.”

It’s strange reading those words three years later because I can remember exactly how I felt. I was genuinely excited. I was starting something new and thought perhaps I was finally going to understand this mysterious thing that I had been hearing and reading about for years.

A lot has happened since then. I’ve explored far more than The Magic. I’ve spent time with Neville Goddard, Abraham Hicks and a variety of other teachers and ideas. I’ve experimented with visualization, SATS, appreciation, meditation and asking the Universe for signs. I’ve paid much more attention to dreams and coincidences. Sometimes something happens that seems so perfectly timed that I wonder whether there’s more going on than coincidence. At other times I’ve questioned whether I’m simply noticing patterns because I’m looking for them.

And three years later, I certainly can’t say that I’ve figured it all out.

That realization was a little bittersweet tonight. If someone had approached me at that Panera table on August 29, 2023 and told me that three years later I would still be trying to understand all of this, I probably would have been surprised. I think I expected that three years would be plenty of time to crack the code.

That’s probably the hardest part of looking back at that optimistic guy sitting in Panera. I know how much hope he had for where all of this might lead. I don’t think he imagined that three years later he would still be searching for some of the things that mattered most to him.

But that doesn’t mean nothing happened during those three years. Far from it. One thing that really struck me when I looked at the website today was the sheer number of entries. There was Day #0001 sitting there from August 29, 2023, while on the same screen were entries numbered well over a thousand from August 2026. Whatever else can be said about this experiment, I certainly followed through on my commitment to document the journey.

Maybe that’s something worth appreciating in itself.

Perhaps the next stage doesn’t need to be about desperately finding the missing technique that finally makes everything fall into place. I can continue meditating, imagining, appreciating and paying attention to those funny little coincidences without demanding that every one of them prove something. At the same time, I can continue doing things in the real world that give life an opportunity to surprise me.

So here I am exactly three years after writing that first Law of Attraction Codes entry. I haven’t mastered the Law of Attraction. I haven’t figured out exactly what the Universe is or whether all these little coincidences mean anything.

But I’m still here, still writing about it, still experimenting, still asking questions and still curious about what might happen next.

And today, at least, things seemed to be looking up a little.

I started with a $4 lottery winner, followed the little trail it created, and ended up holding a $15 winning ticket.

Maybe it’s nothing more than a lucky Blackjack ticket.

Maybe it’s a little wink.

Either way, I’ll take the $15. 🙂
