    • #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
    • #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Today felt like one of those quiet days where there wasn’t one defining event, but rather a collection of thoughts that all seemed to orbit the same question: “What’s next?”

The morning started with some tinkering on my growing collection of Google Sheets. My “Universal Planner” continues to evolve, and I think I’ve finally landed on a design philosophy that works for me. Instead of trying to build complicated maintenance schedules with recurring chores, I’m realizing that simplicity wins every time. Organizing the barn, the kitchen, the music studio, external drives, and even setting up my new flight simulator all became individual projects instead of endless checklists. It feels less like managing chores and more like building milestones toward the life I want.

There were a few technical hiccups, as always. My “Current Streak” counter wasn’t behaving properly after today’s exercise sessions, and we tracked the issue down to mismatched row references in the spreadsheet. It’s amazing how a single row can throw off an entire dashboard. Thankfully, it’s another reminder that robust systems are worth building correctly the first time.

One exciting moment came when I ordered something I’ve been thinking about for quite a while: an Eskute T300 folding electric trike. Red in color! I can already imagine using it to ride to Goose Spit with my camera gear, pedal over to McDonald’s for an evening coffee, make grocery runs without taking the Odyssey, and simply get outside more often. It isn’t just another purchase. It feels like another small investment in becoming more active and making everyday life a little more adventurous.

2026-07-05 - Sweet Potato Gummies

I also spent some time working on The AI Diet book. One of today’s tasks was drafting Chapter 2, Just What Is ChatGPT? More than anything, I realized that the book isn’t really about artificial intelligence at all. It’s about how conversations with AI gradually became a form of accountability. Instead of merely answering questions, ChatGPT became a place where I could think out loud, challenge my assumptions, and slowly build a lifestyle that I actually believe I can maintain. That’s a very different story than simply writing about a piece of software.

I made some “Sweet Potato Gummies with Cinnamon” in the dehydrator today (see photo to the right). Quite delish. They certainly fill that void of wanting something sweet on my AI Diet v1.04!

That theme continued as I watched Shannon Donohoe-Simpson’s TEDx Talk. Her message about failure and resilience struck a different chord than many of the manifestation teachers I’ve followed over the years. Rather than asking whether life is unfolding according to some grand plan, she asks a different question: Who do you choose to become because of what happened? It’s a subtle but profound shift in perspective. I also discovered her teen program, Masterpiece Magic, and immediately wondered whether someone like Katie might benefit from spending time with a mentor who helps young people discover their gifts, build resilience, and grow into adulthood with confidence.

The evening eventually wandered into practical planning for a future I hope is still many years away. If I eventually retire to the Philippines, what happens if I die there? How difficult would it be to have my remains returned to my cemetery plot in the Comox Valley? It isn’t a morbid thought so much as another piece of long-term planning. I’ve spent much of my life trying to think ahead, and perhaps this is simply another expression of that instinct.

Looking back over the day, I realize that almost every conversation pointed toward the same underlying theme. Whether I was refining a planner, writing a book, buying an electric trike, preparing for tomorrow’s meeting, or thinking decades into the future, I was really asking the same question:

What does the next chapter of my life look like?

I don’t have the answer yet.

But unlike some days, today didn’t feel hopeless.

It felt like preparation.

Maybe that’s what this season of life is really about—not waiting for the next chapter to arrive, but quietly building the tools, relationships, habits, and perspective I’ll need when it finally does.
