Today felt like one of those days where a conversation from yesterday continued to ripple outward into the present.

The morning began slowly. Around 11:28 a.m., I found myself talking to the Universe, reflecting on my meeting with Wes the day before. I felt grateful for the conversation we had shared and for all the little winks, nudges, and friendly moments that seem to show up along the journey. At the same time, I found myself asking for a little extra kindness today—nothing dramatic, just a reminder that life is still unfolding in interesting ways. Sometimes a smile, a good conversation, or a small unexpected blessing is enough.

After dropping my daughter off at school, I headed over to Slate Building Supplies to continue my quest for a longer screw for one of the cabinet knobs. This time I think I may have finally found the correct size, although I’ll need to test it to be sure. Sometimes life’s biggest projects involve grand plans and future dreams, and sometimes they involve finding the right screw at the hardware store.

2026-06-08 - Benino's

From there, I found myself wondering which coffee shop to visit. Eventually I settled on Benino’s. I ordered an Americano and, for a change, added a generous amount of cream. I spent some time going through links that Wes had shared with me during our marathon coffee conversation at Milano yesterday. One rabbit hole led to another. I watched material from Bashar (see photo to the right), explored manifestation ideas, and listened to discussions about consciousness, purpose, and what some people call the “user manual” for life. Whether one agrees with everything or not, I enjoy exploring different perspectives and seeing which ideas resonate.

While I was there, I also checked in with the Coffee Club website and submitted my reflections on yesterday’s meeting with Wes. I was amused to discover that I had earned a couple of new badges for participating. It feels a bit like collecting merit badges for curiosity. The whole experience continues to surprise me. What started as a simple idea to meet interesting people over coffee has already led to several fascinating conversations and new perspectives.

Another unexpected development today was the appearance of two new Coffee Club matches: Miranda and Kathleen. I spent part of the afternoon thinking about how to introduce myself in a way that was friendly, genuine, and reassuring. It struck me that meeting people at this stage of life isn’t about impressing anyone. It’s about being authentic. I found myself smiling as I wrote about failed dance lessons, rhythm guitar, fitted sheets, Seed Documents, and my lifelong tendency to ponder the meaning of life. If nothing else, the process reminded me that curiosity has been a constant companion throughout my life.

I also spent a considerable amount of time refining what may become the next evolution of my weight-loss journey. Inspired by some of David Sinclair’s longevity principles, I designed what I’m calling the AI Wrap Diet. The idea is simple: intermittent fasting during the day, lots of water, coffee, and then a highly structured evening meal built around high-fiber tortillas, beans, hummus, egg whites, vegetables, flaxseed, and berries. What appeals to me most is not that it is perfect, but that it might actually be sustainable. One of the things I missed on previous diets was having food I could hold in my hands. These wraps solve that problem nicely.

Along the way, I continued thinking about longevity. The conclusion I kept returning to was that no supplement, miracle food, or secret technique is likely to matter as much as consistently losing excess weight, staying active, preserving muscle, maintaining friendships, and continuing to pursue meaningful projects. In other words, the fundamentals still win.

The stock market also provided a small reminder that patience can pay off. A couple of my limit orders finally triggered, adding positions in Amazon and Google. Whether the timing proves perfect or not remains to be seen, but I was pleased to see the process working exactly as intended. Set reasonable prices, be patient, and let the market decide.

As the day comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on how much of life is built around simple things: a conversation over coffee, a new idea, a hardware store errand, a few wraps, a few berries, a future project, or a question that doesn’t yet have an answer. None of these moments seem particularly significant on their own, yet together they create the texture of a meaningful life. And perhaps that’s one of the biggest lessons of all—that the extraordinary is often hidden inside what first appears to be an ordinary day.
