    • #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

2026-10-08 - Free Muffin

At 10:03 this morning, I was sitting at McDonald’s, enjoying my coffee after finishing a free chocolate brownie muffin (see photo to the right) through the Monopoly promotion. It wasn’t as busy as it sometimes is. A quiet table, something sweet, and a little time to think about my projects.

My plans included a nap, taking my son to school, and a meeting with Amy at 6 pm. Life goes on, as I said in my check-in with the Universe. I’m still looking for my journey, still looking for my passion, and trying to figure things out along the way.

I also wondered whether an Apple Watch would be useful or whether a pedometer app on my iPhone would give me what I wanted. I spent some time watching a beginner’s guide to Cronometer, too. There are plenty of tools available. I’m trying to work out which ones would actually help me.

Much of my attention today went toward HeartPOV and the challenge of finding readers.

The task sounded straightforward: read discussions in Facebook groups and make a few genuine contributions where appropriate. In practice, finding a conversation was difficult. Several groups seemed filled with promotions, with little back-and-forth between members. I had hoped to find people talking about books and stories, somewhere I could join naturally and get to know other readers.

That left me wondering how much readership these groups might bring to HeartPOV. When a group is full of people promoting their own work, will anyone stop to read mine?

While considering a book-group application, I thought of Banana Heart Summer as my favourite book. I also wondered how to explain why I wanted to join and whether mentioning HeartPOV would be appropriate. I want to share what I’m developing, but I also want to participate in a way that feels welcome.

Later, sitting in the McDonald’s parking lot before heading home, I started thinking about other approaches.

I’m willing to spend money on advertising. What matters to me is whether it brings people who actually read the story and come back for more. A visitor count would be interesting, but I want readers who become curious about Mia and Eli, notice things in the videos, and have something to say about what happens next.

One idea was to offer a prize each week or month for a thoughtful suggestion about where the plot could go. We wouldn’t necessarily use the winning idea. It could simply be the contribution we took most to heart and thought about carefully.

That could be an enjoyable part of the community eventually. For the first test, though, we discussed leaving prizes aside and seeing whether the story itself makes people want to continue.

The question I kept returning to was simple: can we test whether people will keep reading?

We could give a small group access to Chapter 1 and its video, then offer the next chapters on a consistent schedule. Someone choosing to return for Chapters 2 and 3 would give us more useful evidence than a compliment or a like. We could also ask where their interest grew, where it faded, and what they wanted to understand better.

I suggested asking readers to provide their email address to receive Part 2. Some might hesitate, so the idea would be to let them experience the first chapter before making that invitation. The promise would need to be clear: their address would be used for the chapter updates they requested, with no unrelated promotions and an easy way to unsubscribe.

We also recognised that a signup and a returning reader are different things. And if someone doesn’t sign up, it might be the email requirement that discouraged them. We would need to pay attention to the whole experience.

This led to the outline of a more focused project under #0024: HeartPOV — Test and Build Returning Readership. Its purpose would be to prepare the opening experience, invite a small audience, observe who returns, gather feedback, and improve what needs work. I still want the whole novel finished before publishing Chapter 1, but we can develop the reader journey in preparation.

HeartPOV remains one of the projects I most want to see grow. I want people to care about the characters, look forward to another chapter, and talk about what they noticed. We haven’t tested that yet, but we now have a more concrete way to begin.

For today, there was coffee, a free muffin, family responsibilities, quiet Facebook groups, and another step toward figuring things out. I’m still looking for my passion—and I’m giving this story a chance to become part of it.
