    • #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
    • #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Friday, October 9, 2026 turned into one of those days that wandered in several completely different directions—which, when I think about it, is pretty typical of my life.

By evening, the sun had gone down and I was reflecting on the day. I had been running errands and making my various journeys around town, and somewhere in the middle of it all I stopped at Triple O’s for a hamburger. Eventually I came home, had a nap, woke up again, and at exactly 8:20 p.m. I decided I wasn’t finished with Friday yet.

McDonald’s was calling.

Before I headed out, though, I had one of my little conversations with the Universe.

I told it what I wanted.

I want a toonie.

That little request has almost become symbolic for me now. Finding a random toonie would be insignificant financially, but that isn’t really the point. It would be a delightful little wink from life—something unexpected appearing in my path.

But then I got to the things that actually matter.

I was expecting good things.

I don’t know how any of it is supposed to happen, and I certainly don’t know when. But I liked the state I was in tonight: go out, have my coffee, notice people, notice life, and remain open.

“Thank you, Universe. Let’s see what Friday night brings.”

Earlier, another interesting possibility had come up—one involving the kids.

My kids have been thinking about making a Roblox game together. That immediately got my attention because there is an enormous difference between kids deciding, “We should make a game!” and actually surviving the technical details long enough to make one.

The challenge is keeping the magic alive.

They like animals. They like Halloween. And they like the Roblox fashion game Dress to Impress.

Suddenly those three ingredients started coming together.

What if they made a game about animals dressing up for Halloween?

We came up with a working idea: Critter Costume.

Imagine entering a cute Halloween town and choosing an animal—a cat, dog, fox, bunny or raccoon. Then a theme appears:

WITCH’S PET!

Or:

HAUNTED PROM!

Or Pumpkin Party, Zombie Zoo, Vampire Vacation, Monster Mash, Cute But Creepy…

Everybody gets a few minutes to dress up their animal. Then comes the Halloween runway and voting. Winners earn candy that can eventually be exchanged for more costumes.

That sounds like an actual Roblox game.

But the more important insight was not the game idea itself. It was how to approach making it.

Don’t start by “learning Roblox programming.”

Start by making something.

For their first session, they could create one tiny Halloween environment, put in a runway, pumpkins, spooky trees and a dressing area, and then constantly hit Play and run around inside the world they just created.

The first victory should simply be:

“Holy crap. This is OUR GAME!”

Then add one tiny piece of functionality. Perhaps a sign randomly chooses the theme for each round. Once they see something they imagined actually working, programming stops being an abstract subject they’re supposed to learn. It becomes the tool that lets them make their game do cool things.

I particularly liked the idea of a 15-minute rule: nobody gets to spend more than 15 minutes banging their head against a technical problem. Ask AI. Simplify it. Skip it temporarily. Do something else.

Protect the enthusiasm.

There will be plenty of time later for Lua scripts, Blender models, animations, inventories and all the complicated stuff. First, they need to fall in love with making something.

And then, as predicted, I eventually found myself at McDonald’s.

There was my Friday-night spread: a double cheeseburger, fries, several little cups of ketchup and coffee. Even the coffee cup was participating in McDonald’s Monopoly.

And I had two Monopoly pieces.

One was Peggy’s Cove #810, connected with the Kennedy Space Center trip prize. The other was Niagara Falls #822, associated with a five-million-point Avion prize (see photo to the right).

No instant fortune appeared to have materialized, unfortunately. They were game pieces that still needed to be entered and checked.

Still, I had to laugh.

At 8:20 p.m., I had told the Universe that I wanted a toonie, love, happiness and my soulmate.

A couple of hours later, there I was at McDonald’s staring at two Monopoly pieces.

Okay, Universe.

Not exactly what I ordered.

But points for participation.

And somehow Friday didn’t quite end there. As the night stretched into the very early morning, my attention turned to that most profound of existential questions:

When does Wendy’s start serving breakfast?

Apparently the Courtenay Wendy’s opens at 8:00 a.m.

Then came the even more urgent question: when does the lobby at the McDonald’s on Lerwick open?

Around 5:00 a.m.

Which gives a pretty good indication of just how far Friday night managed to stretch.

So that was my Friday: errands, Triple O’s, a nap, conversations with the Universe, dreams of love and synchronicity, imagining a Roblox game with my kids, Halloween animals walking a virtual runway, McDonald’s Monopoly pieces, cheeseburgers and fries, and eventually wondering which fast-food restaurant would open first in the morning.

No toonie yet.

No dramatic manifestation.

But there was something I liked about the day nevertheless.

There were ideas.

There was anticipation.

There was time with thoughts about my kids and something creative they might build together.

And there was that simple feeling I expressed before leaving the house tonight:

I’m expecting good things.

I’m looking forward to them.

Maybe that’s enough for tonight.

The toonie can arrive tomorrow. 🪙
