    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

2026-08-15 - Farmers Market

This morning started with something new: I visited the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market for the first time (see photo to the right). Apparently there are really two parts to it, one focused on vegetables and produce and another with more artisan and craft-type vendors. I walked around both, taking pictures and shooting some video along the way, thinking some of it might work for tomorrow’s video for my channel. I also made my contribution to the local farming economy by buying a cauliflower for $9. Yes, nine dollars for one cauliflower.

As I was getting into the car after the market, I had one of those thoughts that has become familiar lately: wouldn’t this be the perfect moment to find a toonie lying on the ground? Just a tiny, unexpected wink from the Universe. I looked, but there was no toonie. It brought me back again to what I’ve been thinking about God’s plan and God’s will. I hear people talk about there being a plan for their lives, and that is what I want too. The frustrating part is that I can’t seem to figure out what mine is. Here I am at 66, still asking the question.

By 1:24 p.m. I was sitting at McDonald’s with my small coffee, talking out loud again to God and the Universe. My prayer this afternoon wasn’t for some enormous miracle. I asked for guidance, a little love, a little kindness and some help recognizing what my next step should be.

While at McDonald’s I also watched a YouTube video about rural life in Palawan in the Philippines. One of the people featured had previously worked in Google customer service before losing his job. Watching someone living such a completely different life on the other side of the world seemed strangely appropriate today. There are so many possible lives a person can live, and I sometimes wonder how we end up in the particular one we’re living—and whether it’s ever too late to take another road.

The other subject occupying my mind was a new YouTube channel. Over the past couple of days, what started as a silly idea about building the Titanic out of cardboard has become increasingly interesting to me. I’ve been reading and listening to people like Bashar, Esther Hicks and Neville Goddard, and thinking about ideas such as following your excitement or passion and Neville’s “bridge of incidents.” We don’t necessarily know where the next step is leading while we’re taking it. That made me wonder whether my sudden fascination with building a cardboard Titanic might itself be something worth following—not because it guarantees a successful YouTube channel, but simply because right now I genuinely want to do it.

So this afternoon I went to Dollarama. I wasn’t planning to buy anything; I just wanted to investigate what was available for the Titanic build. Once I started looking, the store became a giant model-building supply room. There were poster boards, foam boards, markers, paints, glue, paper clips, binder clips and all kinds of miscellaneous things that could potentially become parts of a ship. I took photographs as I wandered around and even found what looks like the perfect timer: a Taylor digital timer for $4.40 that can be set for the one-hour countdown.

Interestingly, seeing all those supplies made me think the channel might actually be better if I don’t use most of them. Instead of making model building easier, perhaps it needs deliberately restrictive rules. I would get cardboard, glue and paint or markers—and that’s essentially it. If Titanic needs funnels, I have to figure out how to make them from cardboard. Masts? Cardboard. Lifeboats? Cardboard. Railings? Cardboard. Even rope might mean cutting impossibly thin strips of cardboard and trying to make something resembling rigging. Toothpicks wouldn’t even be allowed.

There would be one exception: the Secret Ingredient. At the beginning of every build, I would randomly select a card telling me one additional material that I have to incorporate somehow. It could be spaghetti, marshmallows, licorice, aluminum foil, toothpicks or even mashed potatoes. Suddenly the format has become remarkably simple: one hour, cardboard, glue and paint—and one Secret Ingredient. When the timer reaches zero, hands off. Whatever I’ve managed to build is finished.

Tonight I’m back at McDonald’s again, this time with a black coffee and one Stevia, thinking about everything that happened today. I’m trying not to turn my excitement into a prediction. Badly Built History might succeed, or it might be another experiment that goes nowhere. I don’t know. What I do know is that yesterday it was merely an idea. This morning I was walking around a farmers’ market. This afternoon I was photographing cardboard and timers at Dollarama. Tonight I’m at McD nursing a black coffee with one Splenda!

I went looking for a toonie today and didn’t find one. Maybe that’s worth remembering too. If I’m asking God or the Universe to show me the next step, I shouldn’t assume the answer has to look like money lying on the ground or some unmistakable supernatural sign. Maybe sometimes the clue is simply noticing what keeps pulling my attention and taking one small step toward it.

For now, that’s exactly what I’m doing.

There’s a $9 cauliflower at home, a $4.40 timer at Dollarama, an empty YouTube channel—and a cardboard Titanic that doesn’t exist yet.

We’ll see what happens next.
