    • #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
    • #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Today turned out to be one of those days when a lot of seemingly unrelated things somehow circled around the same question: What am I supposed to be doing with my life?

I spent some time looking at my projects and questioning whether some of them are really worth pursuing. #0013, The Next Chapter, has now been shelved after the Facebook test produced no sign that people wanted what I was offering. That naturally made me wonder about #0016, the YouTube Growth Lab. Am I discovering something worthwhile there, or am I simply finding another way to consume my time? I also found myself questioning my laser engraving business. I like aspects of the idea—and even investigated getting a separate virtual 250 phone number to make the business look legitimate without actually having to spend my days talking to customers—but the bigger question remains: Is it worth the effort it would require?

This afternoon I drove to the main post office near Superstore to mail a package to the States for my wife. While there, I discovered that a post office box costs about $200 a year. If I eventually need one for a business, though, I think the postal outlet near the pharmacy/laundromat may be the better choice because of its hours and possibly being able to use a street-style address. I also called North Island College and learned that the marketing program I had been considering no longer exists, and auditing courses would apparently cost the same as taking them for credit. That certainly didn’t make spending a lot of time and money going back to school sound particularly attractive.

Afterward, I ended up where I so often do: McDonald’s with a coffee, catching up on my Universal Planner and thinking about where I’m going. Later this evening I returned and had “the usual”—a small black coffee with one Splenda—and watched the “Hu Bu” (Tiger’s Step) martial-arts video (see photo to the right), continuing #0010, 🥋 Shaolin Online Self-Mastery. There was something nice about that: amid all my uncertainty about big projects and life direction, I simply sat down and learned something.

My YouTube channel provided an interesting little bright spot today. I published the 56-second Close Encounters of the Third Kind Short, and initially it seemed to be doing very little—45 views, then 64. But later it reached 145 views, with 82 views arriving in the previous hour and more than 90% of that recent traffic coming through the Shorts feed. YouTube appeared to be giving it a larger organic test. That’s hardly a viral success, but for #0016 it was useful evidence: YouTube was actually finding people for the video without me paying for them.

Even more interesting was something that happened on the long Close Encounters video. A viewer responded to my question about feeling called toward something without understanding why. He said he’d felt that way for ten years and was tired of living in limbo—he simply wanted to know his purpose. I asked him what he would hope that purpose was if he suddenly knew it tomorrow. He came back and said that when his time in this world is over, he wants God to give him a task, let him go, and allow him to feel good about having accomplished something that changed someone’s life. It struck me that perhaps this person is almost a prototype of the audience I have been trying to find: someone looking for meaning, purpose, clarity and the feeling that his life mattered.

That subject became much more personal later when I returned to Edwina Findley Dickerson’s The World Is Waiting for You. On page 10 she describes having supernatural experiences from the age of sixteen—visions, signs, spiritual impressions and flashes of things to come that she says later unfolded just as God had shown her. I found myself thinking, That’s what I want. Maybe experiences like that aren’t happening to me. Maybe they are and I’m not recognizing them. Or maybe, as I finally admitted, I just don’t know. Perhaps I should start recording unusual dreams, impressions, coincidences and unexpected thoughts without immediately deciding what they mean, then see later whether anything emerges.

But underneath all of this was something considerably more painful. I started reading the Bible when I was fifteen years old. I wanted to do what was right. I prayed to God and asked Him to guide me. Now, fifty-one years later, I sometimes look at my life and wonder what happened. Reading Edwina describing her “God Dream” actually made me jealous and angry. Why does she seem to receive unmistakable guidance while I feel as though I’m stumbling around in the dark? For a moment the thought was simply: God loves Edwina, but apparently there’s no God Dream for me?

Tonight I finally said something about that out loud. I told God that I don’t understand. I reminded Him that I’ve been seeking Him since I was fifteen. I admitted that I feel forgotten, angry and jealous. And instead of asking for another inspirational saying, I asked for something much simpler: Show me what is true. Show me what is mine to change and what is mine to accept. And if there is still something ahead of me that I cannot see, help me recognize the next honest step toward it.

Maybe that’s where today really ended.

Not with the laser engraving business. Not with YouTube analytics. Not with manifestation, college courses, martial arts, post office boxes or another business experiment.

Just one question:

God, Universe—what is my next honest step?

I don’t know the answer.

And tonight, perhaps “I just don’t know” is an okay place to begin.
