    • #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Canada Day arrived quietly this year. I slept in until 11:49 a.m., and when I woke up, the first thing on my mind wasn’t fireworks or celebrations—it was a dream. It was one of those dreams that seems to linger after you wake up, as though it carries a message with it. I dreamed that a group of us were climbing the side of a building using nothing more than the cords from Venetian blinds. The cords looked impossibly fragile, yet they held. Near the top, I found myself searching for the tiniest handhold to make the final transition onto the ledge before climbing through a window into a celebration. Waiting inside were Dr. John McDougall and his wife, congratulating everyone who had made the climb. The symbolism felt surprisingly clear: the path may look impossible, the support beneath me may seem inadequate, and others may appear better suited for the journey, but persistence matters more than appearances. Sometimes all you need is the next tiny handhold.

The rest of the day continued in much the same reflective spirit. I spent some time polishing the script for my one-year anniversary YouTube Short. It struck me that the message I’ve been trying to communicate for a year can almost be summarized in one sentence: we don’t become all at once—we become one ordinary day at a time. That’s exactly what today felt like.

In the afternoon, I recorded another conversation with the Universe. I found myself acknowledging that my life hasn’t unfolded the way I imagined when I was younger. It hasn’t been the story I planned. And yet, when I step back and really look at it, it has been an incredibly interesting life. I asked for help finding meaningful work, true love, happiness, and the courage to embrace whatever experiences still lie ahead. And, of course, I asked for a few little winks along the way.

Later, I headed out to Walmart with a practical mission: finding little display stands for some framed photos and medals. I was convinced Walmart would have them. They didn’t. I briefly considered driving over to London Drugs, where I remembered seeing them before, but it was getting close to closing time. Maybe I should have gone there first. Instead, I decided I’d probably just order them online. Sometimes the easiest answer really is the simplest one.

While driving, I found myself holding a toonie in my hand, hoping perhaps I’d find another one during my travels. It’s funny how that has become a little ritual now. I didn’t find one at Walmart, but I kept driving anyway, taking a few back roads, getting momentarily turned around between the road to Maple Lake and the one toward the Twin Town Café. As I wandered, I repeated to myself, This is my bliss, and it’s taking me somewhere. I wanted to believe that even wrong turns can become part of the right journey.

One pleasant surprise came while driving past the old construction site that has slowly transformed over the past months. The Liberty Kitchen sign was finally illuminated. The landscaping was finished, the building looked complete, and aside from one construction bin sitting outside, it looked almost ready to open. I’ve watched this place evolve from dirt and framing into what is now clearly becoming a restaurant. There was something satisfying about seeing the sign glowing against the evening sky.

Eventually I found myself back at one of my familiar places—McDonald’s. Coffee in hand, tablet on the table, I watched the evening news covering the climbers atop the Empire State Building in New York City. Later I switched over to a video about Ralph Bakshi and the 1969 Spider-Man cartoon, enjoying the history behind a piece of childhood nostalgia (see photo to the right). Those quiet evenings at McDonald’s have become part of my routine now: coffee, reflection, learning something new, and simply watching the world go by.

The day also wandered into a handful of interesting rabbit holes. I learned more about dirty sodas, looked at falling oil prices, talked about SpaceX, caught up on a few Philippines YouTube channels, summarized another one of Andrew Taylor’s Spud Fit videos, and even processed another YouTube channel archive into one of my familiar linked documents. None of those things were monumental on their own, but together they reminded me how much I genuinely enjoy learning. Curiosity continues to be one of the constants in my life.

As Canada Day comes to a close, I’m struck by how ordinary it all was. There were no spectacular events. No grand adventures. No toonies waiting in a parking lot. Yet there was a meaningful dream, honest conversations with the Universe, a glowing restaurant sign, quiet learning, a coffee at McDonald’s, and another reminder that life is built from days exactly like this one.

If the past year of Already Becoming has taught me anything, it’s that these ordinary days aren’t interruptions to the journey.

They are the journey.
