- #1) Hello – Begin by acknowledging them out loud. Simply say “Hello Universe” and open the conversation. The goal is not perfection or certainty, but connection. Say “THANK YOU” for everything and be SPECIFIC about manifestations!
- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes
Some days feel like giant leaps forward, while others are about quietly reinforcing the habits and beliefs that are shaping the next chapter of life. Today felt like one of those quieter days, but it was full of interesting ideas, reflections, and little experiments that all seem to be pointing in the same direction.
The morning began with my daily conversation with the Universe. After the excitement of finding two toonies yesterday, I found myself reaching over and touching them as I spoke. They still seemed almost unbelievable sitting there on my desk. I thanked the Universe for the surprise and decided to play the same little game again today. Later this afternoon, while taking the kids to their viola/violin classes, I would have another opportunity to walk through parking lots and sidewalks with my eyes open, hoping for another little “wink.” More importantly, though, I reminded myself that the goal wasn’t really about finding coins. It was about staying curious, observant, and grateful regardless of what happened.

That idea fit perfectly with something I’ve been thinking about from Bashar’s teachings—continuing to examine my beliefs. I explored what it really means to question the quiet assumptions that operate beneath the surface. Are they objectively true, or are they simply stories I’ve been telling myself? That simple shift—from assuming to questioning—feels like an important part of my personal journey.
Later, I spent some time at Starbucks with a black coffee, watching YouTube videos. One was about an 82-year-old man meeting his Filipina wife’s family for the first time (see photo to the right). I later found out that there was another channel almost exactly like this, and selling almost exactly the same book! These quiet afternoons at coffee shops have become part of my routine. They’re no longer just about coffee; they’re little pockets of time to think, learn, and imagine what the future might hold.
One of the most exciting discoveries of the day had nothing to do with spirituality at all. It started with a simple thought: instead of using oat flour in a sweet potato bread recipe, why not grind dehydrated instant hash browns into a flour using my Ninja blender? That single idea quickly snowballed into something much bigger. Since I already own an Instant Pot, a dehydrator, a Ninja blender, and a Griddler, why not make my own potato flour from whole russet potatoes? Slice them thin, dehydrate them until crisp, grind them into flour, and suddenly I’d have a completely whole-food ingredient with no additives. From there my imagination took off. What if I could create an “AI Diet Bread” made entirely from potatoes, sweet potatoes, and egg whites? Bread, buns, pizza crusts, crackers—even sandwich bread—all fitting within the eating plan I’m building. It feels like one of those ideas that starts small but could become one of the foundational recipes of my diet.
I also spent time satisfying my curiosity about a variety of topics. I learned about Bulalo, the famous Filipino beef soup made with beef shanks and marrow bones, and how I could adapt it to fit my lower-fat eating plan by skimming the fat and focusing on the lean meat and vegetables. I learned that James Blackwood, the Raccoon Whisperer whose videos I’ve enjoyed, lives in the Churchville area of Nova Scotia—not all that far from where I grew up. I looked into the cost of buying a three-bedroom condo near UBC, imagining what that might look like if Katie eventually chose to attend university there, and reflected on how someone with significant investments has different financial choices than someone relying entirely on a mortgage.
My investing side came out as well. I looked at the announcement that Palantir and NVIDIA are expanding their partnership to deliver secure AI systems for government applications. Although neither stock moved much after the news, I was reminded that markets often care less about exciting announcements and more about whether those announcements eventually produce meaningful revenue. As an investor, that’s a useful lesson: today’s headlines are interesting, but tomorrow’s earnings reports ultimately matter more.
History also entered the conversation today. I explored estimates surrounding Mao Zedong’s death toll, learning why historians disagree on the exact numbers while generally agreeing that tens of millions of people died under his rule. That naturally led to a very different question: who might be considered his opposite? The answer that resonated most was Norman Borlaug, whose work during the Green Revolution is widely credited with helping prevent famine and feeding hundreds of millions of people. It was a fascinating contrast between two individuals whose legacies moved humanity in dramatically different directions.
As evening arrived, I followed through on my little coin game. After leaving McDonald’s, I stopped at Superstore and kept my eyes open. Tonight there were no loonies. No toonies. Nothing waiting on the pavement. And yet, I found myself smiling anyway. Yesterday’s excitement wasn’t diminished by today’s empty pockets. If anything, the game has evolved. It’s no longer really about coins at all. It’s about paying attention. Some days the wink might be a coin. Other days it’s an idea that changes how I think about bread, a meaningful YouTube video, an interesting historical fact, or simply the quiet satisfaction of ending the day with curiosity still intact.
Looking back over today, I realize that none of these conversations were really separate. They all pointed toward the same destination. Whether I was questioning limiting beliefs, experimenting with recipes, learning about history, researching investments, or scanning a parking lot for a forgotten coin, I was practicing the same habit: staying engaged with life. Progress isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s built one thought, one experiment, one question, and one ordinary Monday at a time. And if I keep following that path, perhaps the biggest discoveries are still ahead.
