    • #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
    • #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Today felt like one of those days where several seemingly unrelated threads all wove themselves together into a bigger picture.

The morning was cool and overcast, a welcome break from the recent heat. Before heading out, I had a short conversation with the Universe. I thanked it for the cooler weather and asked for something simple—not answers to every question, just the wisdom to follow my passions and to be shown whatever I needed to know. I asked to be guided through the day and then left it at that.

I took my son to see Disclosure Day this afternoon. Since I had already seen it earlier in the week with my daughter, I was able to relax and absorb different parts of the story the second time around. One thing I can say with certainty is that I solved one of my biggest dieting challenges today. Instead of buying popcorn or candy at the theatre, I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small bag of homemade dehydrated sweet potato treats. They were absolutely delicious. Even more importantly, I never once felt like I was missing out. It struck me that this may become my permanent movie snack from now on. It fits perfectly with Version 1.04 of my diet, it’s inexpensive, portable, and actually tastes great. Those little victories are the ones that make long-term success possible.

Earlier in the day I made myself another meal that reinforced just how much this new way of eating is working for me. It was a huge plate of food built around a mixture of shredded potato hash browns, egg whites, and vegetables, all cooked together on the Griddler until crispy on both sides. I topped it with diced tomatoes, mustard, salsa, nutritional yeast, and spices, with pickles and a beet on the side. It was incredibly satisfying and left me completely full. The surprising part is that I’m genuinely looking forward to these meals. They don’t feel like “diet food” at all.

Today also marked the end of my first full week on Version 1.04 of the AI Diet, and the numbers are encouraging. I’m now down 8.4 pounds since starting this version of the plan, dropping from 344.9 pounds to 336.5 pounds in just seven days. Looking at the bigger picture, I’m now 25.4 pounds below my highest recorded weight of 361.9 pounds. While I know some of the first week’s loss is water weight, what excites me most isn’t the scale—it’s the sustainability. For the first time in a long while, I don’t feel like I’m forcing myself through another diet. I actually enjoy the food, I don’t feel deprived, and I can honestly picture myself eating this way for months. That’s a completely different feeling than I’ve had on previous attempts.

The story of the gentleman who found a new life in Dumaguete stayed with me long after the movie and the YouTube video ended. His message wasn’t really about the Philippines. It was about belonging. About being somewhere people notice if you don’t show up. About sitting down for breakfast and having someone already know what you’d like to order. I found myself thinking not so much about moving there tomorrow, but about the possibility of one day spending part of the year in the Philippines after the kids are grown. Not as an escape from Canada, but perhaps as another chapter of life.

2026-06-26 - The Honest Move

That curiosity led me down several rabbit holes. I learned about pandesal, the beloved Filipino breakfast bread, and calamansi juice, a refreshing citrus drink that sounds like something I’d genuinely enjoy. I discovered that McDonald’s in the Philippines even serves breakfast on pandesal buns. More importantly, I bought Richard’s book, The Honest Move (see photo to the right). Not because I’ve made any decisions, but because I want to understand the realities instead of relying on imagination. If I’m going to dream about something, I’d rather dream with good information.

What I do know is that today I also reached out to more of my Coffee Club matches. Those conversations continue moving forward one message at a time. Perhaps that’s what following my passions really looks like—not waiting for life to magically change overnight, but continuing to take small steps toward connection, health, creativity, and purpose.

As I look back on today, I realize it wasn’t really about movies, or sweet potatoes, or the Philippines. It was about hope. Hope that there are still chapters left to be written. Hope that the next decade of my life doesn’t have to look like the last. Hope that somewhere ahead there is still a place—and perhaps even a person—where I truly belong.

Until then, I’ll keep following the breadcrumbs, one day at a time.
