Today was one of those days where there wasn’t a single earth-shattering event, but rather a collection of conversations and decisions that all seem to point in the same direction—toward building a healthier, more intentional future.

The morning began with another quiet conversation with the Universe. I found myself expressing gratitude that the weather was comfortable—not too hot and not raining—and asking for guidance through the day. More than anything, I asked for happiness. Not excitement, not wealth, not even answers to life’s biggest questions. Just happiness. I asked for help recognizing the little “winks” and nudges that seem to appear from time to time and for the wisdom to understand what they might be trying to tell me.

That theme of searching for a better future continued throughout the day. We talked about my investment portfolio after I completed another round of purchases. Today I added positions in MSCI and Prologis, completing almost every company on the investment scorecard I’ve been following. I also increased my holdings in Amazon, Alphabet, Apple, and Palantir. Looking over the portfolio as a whole was reassuring. Instead of trying to predict every twist and turn of the market, I’m steadily building ownership in businesses I believe can thrive over the coming decade. It’s a reminder that investing is less about guessing tomorrow and more about patiently participating in the future.

Another topic that resurfaced was travel. We revisited the idea of a Winnebago Roam camper van and talked about how to buy a lightly used one without inheriting expensive problems. The conclusion was simple: let someone else absorb the initial depreciation, invest in professional inspections, and never underestimate the importance of checking for water damage. It reinforced a principle that applies to investing and life alike—doing careful homework usually costs far less than cleaning up preventable mistakes later.

2026-06-25 - Sweet Potato Snacks

The most enjoyable part of the day, however, happened in the kitchen.

I’ve been experimenting with my AI Diet and wanted a healthier alternative to movie theater snacks. Instead of popcorn or candy, I pressure-cooked a batch of sweet potatoes, mashed them, and placed little bite-sized mounds onto dehydrator trays (see photo to the right). My hope is that they’ll dry into chewy, gummy-like snacks made from nothing more than sweet potato. If they work, they’ll become an easy whole-food snack I can take to the movies, keep in the car, or stash in my camera bag. I briefly considered adding almond milk, but ultimately decided to keep the first batch as pure as possible. If the plain version is good, then I know I’ve created something simple, inexpensive, and completely aligned with my way of eating.

As I thought about those little sweet potato bites, it struck me that this is exactly the sort of small innovation that makes a healthy lifestyle sustainable. Rather than focusing on what I can’t have, I’m creating something I actually want to eat. It’s not about deprivation; it’s about replacing old habits with better ones.

Looking back, today wasn’t defined by one dramatic breakthrough. It was built from dozens of small choices: praying, investing, learning, cooking, planning, and imagining the future. Perhaps that’s how meaningful change really happens—not through giant leaps, but through quiet consistency. Every thoughtful investment, every healthier meal, every conversation, every new idea is another small vote for the kind of man I hope to become. And maybe that’s enough. Maybe an extraordinary life is simply the accumulation of enough ordinary days lived with intention.
