Sunday started later than usual for me. When I woke up around 11:21 a.m., I didn’t really remember a dream, but I did wake up with a phrase already sitting in my mind:

“Look what now at the time it is.”

An odd phrase, perhaps. Not exactly poetry. Not exactly a quote. Yet it felt important enough that I immediately started thinking about what it meant.

The more I sat with it, the more it seemed to be pointing toward something simple: stop worrying about the future and stop fretting about the past. Enjoy the moment that is sitting right in front of you. This moment. Right now.

After all, this is all we really have.

It’s fascinating when you think about how many moments we experience in a lifetime and how many of them pass by unnoticed. How many sunsets. How many conversations. How many cups of coffee. How many small kindnesses. How many little winks from the Universe that we never really stop long enough to appreciate.

I found myself asking for help with that today. Help being thankful. Help being mindful. Help noticing the little enjoyments, the little kindnesses, the little whatever that make up an ordinary day.

I put up a review of the Rocky movie on my YouTube channel. Most people remember Rocky for the fight, the music, the training montage, or the famous run up the stairs. But that wasn’t what stayed with me this time. What stayed with me was the distance between where Rocky started and where he ended up. He wasn’t the favorite. He wasn’t the strongest. He wasn’t the smartest. He simply kept moving forward. Again. And again. And again.

Watching the movie through the lens of my Becoming Journey, I couldn’t help but think about how different real life is from the movies. Hollywood condenses months of effort into a few inspiring minutes set to music. Real life doesn’t do that. Real life is quieter. Real life is one meal, one walk, one decision, one choice, one day at a time.

Perhaps that’s why the phrase from the morning seemed to fit so well.

2026-05-31 - Trike For Sale

Rocky wasn’t standing at the top of the stairs while he was still at the bottom. He wasn’t living in tomorrow’s victory. He was taking today’s step. Then another. Then another.

On the way to McDonalds this evening I passed a 3-wheel trike for sale (see photo to the right). I called them up and they wanted $80 for it. I think I’ll pass till my situation becomes much more concrete.

I also found myself revisiting old stories today. Pete Best, the original Beatles drummer, came up in conversation. For years he was known as the man who got replaced just before the Beatles became the Beatles. Yet decades later, royalties from the Anthology project reportedly brought him millions of dollars. Life has a way of continuing to write chapters long after we think the story is over.

That thought connected surprisingly well with an episode of Kung Fu that I explored today called Dark Angel. The episode centers on a blind preacher named Serenity Johnson and the idea that physical sight and true vision are not the same thing. The man who cannot see with his eyes ultimately sees more clearly than those around him. It is another reminder that wisdom often comes from unexpected places and that what appears to be a limitation may become a gift.

By the end of the day, everything seemed to circle back to the same lesson. “Enjoy The Moment”!
