Remember, losing weight means:

Saturday, May 23, 2026 — The Lecture, the Library, and an Ordinary Saturday

Today turned out to be one of those days that looked simple from the outside but felt surprisingly full once I slowed down and thought about it. No major events. No travel. No big life changes. Just a Saturday made up of thoughts, errands, reflection, and a couple moments that somehow seemed connected even though they happened hours apart.

The day really started before I woke up. Last night I had fallen asleep listening to a Neville Goddard lecture — one about acting as though nothing is impossible and understanding desire from a different perspective. Somehow the lecture worked itself into my dream. In the dream, I was walking through what felt like a California-style outdoor area with cobblestone pathways, fountains, and little shops. It felt relaxed and open. This dream was more a feeling of recognition. Like I already knew the lesson. Like the dream wasn’t telling me something new so much as reminding me of something I’ve thought about many times already. The feeling wasn’t, “Now I understand.” It was more, “Okay… now maybe I should actually try living this instead of just understanding it.”

Later in the morning I did one of my little check-ins with the Universe. I thanked it for another sunny day and for all the things that are easy to overlook when they become normal. I thought about finances and how strange it is to realize that compared to one or two years ago there’s roughly another million U.S. dollars there. Converting that mentally into Canadian dollars made it feel even bigger. At the same time, I admitted some frustration about decisions I’ve made — especially selling some positions in Fidelity that I sometimes wish I had held. I know I can’t change the past, but I found myself hoping that the investments I still own turn into big winners and that someday I’ll look back and realize things unfolded exactly as they needed to.

I also thanked the Universe for my health. My leg seems to be getting better, and I don’t want to take that for granted. I thanked it for the dream. I thanked it for another ordinary day. Then I started planning the afternoon — Costco to check out computers and graphics cards because my boy wants something with Nvidia, maybe browse the food section while I was there, and then Walmart afterward to pick up that soundbar I saw yesterday since I think I finally know how to fix the TV situation. Somewhere in there I also decided I felt like a burrito and started thinking about loading one up with lettuce and salsa so it still felt reasonably diet-friendly.

2026-05-23 - Lottery Tickets

I went to Costco to check out the gaming computers for my son, to Walmart to pick up another Soundbar to try out on my living room tv, and to Good’s Groceries for some large burrito wraps.

I picked up some lottery tickets at the little booth just outside Walmart, but they were “duds” (see photo to the right). I seemed to win quite a few times a couple of years ago, but not anymore (for some reason).

I took my daughter to a birthday party this evening and then came back to pick her up a couple of hours later.

This evening found me at McDonalds again, with a small coffee, two oat creamers, and one Splenda!

When I got home I worked on my “Neighborhood Library Box” video, which will be the “long” video I will publish tomorrow.
