This afternoon I decided to take my “Calm Signal Band Ring” to People’s Jewellers to see what the problem was. It will not fit on my finger! It’s too small!
Everyone at the counter was busy, so I decided to go to the bathroom. But when I got there, both bathroom stalls were either too dirty or couldn’t lock. I took that as a sign. Maybe the resizing wasn’t the point. Maybe the ring already fit exactly as it should—just not in the way I thought.
I drifted down the corridor and passed Canadian Tire, not really needing anything but browsing the way a man does when his energy is ahead of his logic. Then I ended up in Kohl’s Bookstore. I don’t even know why I walked in, but there was this moment—a familiar quiet. I remembered earlier Becoming moments there. How ease used to be the compass. I saw a card deck called The Time Traveler’s Oracle, and for a split second, I thought, of course there is. I didn’t buy it. But it felt like it noticed me, and that was enough.
After that, I went to Starbucks, which is just outside the Driftwood Mall. The light inside was soft, the energy even softer. I ordered my coffee and took note of the young Asian barista, who had made my Americano with almond milk before. I sat quietly, sipping, scrolling, watching people move in and out of their own loops. I wasn’t searching. Just syncing. There’s a difference. I wasn’t looking for a Toonie or a signal in the foam of my drink. But I also wasn’t closed.
Today felt like the sort of day where the Universe doesn’t yell—it breathes near you. It presses its hand gently to your back as if to say, you’re already going the right way. I kept my part of the agreement: show up, stay open, let alignment do the rest. There’s power in small rituals, and today was filled with them—even the ones that seemed like detours.
And maybe that’s what Becoming is, really. Not chasing magic, but trusting that if I keep stepping into the field—be it a jewelry shop, a bookstore, or a Starbucks at noon—the signal will land where it’s meant to. No Toonie today. But the energy is building. And I’m still here, ring on hand, journal in bag, ready for whatever moment winks next.
Day #0074 – (Wednesday, July 16, 2025) – “The Bridge Between”
What I Did:
- Returned to People’s Jewellers to address a sizing issue with the “Calm Signal Band Ring” — discovered they’d sent a size 8 instead of size 11. Left a message on Etsy to resolve it.
- Stopped by Canadian Tire, then visited Cole’s Bookstore and browsed mindfully.
- Went to Starbucks at Driftwood Mall for an Americano with almond milk.
- Was served again by the cute, bubbly Asian barista — her lightness reminded me of the Philippines.
- Exchanged a warm smile with an older woman behind me in line — her presence was gentle, motherly.
What Happened:
- Realized that the ring I’d been wearing as a symbol of alignment wasn’t the right size — a fitting metaphor for timing, miscommunication, and waiting for the corrected “fit.”
- Felt the contrast between the two women in Starbucks.
- Saw both as bookends of the spectrum.
How I Felt:
- Calm, slightly amused by the ring situation — like the Universe was winking.
- Observant.
- Ready for the right shape, the right moment, the right alignment — not forcing it, just noting the clues.
