- #2) Honesty – Speak truthfully about what you actually feel — fear, loneliness, frustration, gratitude, confusion, hope, excitement, doubt, or exhaustion. Don’t perform spirituality. Just be real.
- #3) Companionship – Treat them like companions walking beside you. Share little moments throughout the day: things you notice, appreciate, wonder about, or find beautiful or funny. Build relationship, not just requests.
- #4) Meetings – Take a few moments each day to talk through your life with them — what’s ahead today, what you’re worried about, what you want, where you feel stuck, and where you’d appreciate support or clarity.
- #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
- #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
- #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes
Today ended up being one of those days where several completely different threads somehow came together by the time it was over: pancakes, the Titanic, the Philippines, Edwina, God, the Universe—and two loonies sitting in two different shopping carts.

One of the big accomplishments today was finally getting moving on building the Titanic, and the challenge was to build it in exactly one hour. Perfection isn’t the objective. In fact, imperfection is part of the entertainment. I ended up with a black-hulled Titanic with a white superstructure and four orange-and-black funnels. Considering the one-hour limitation, it actually looked remarkably Titanic-ish.
And then there was the iceberg. I made it out of mashed potatoes (see photo to the right).
Unfortunately, I discovered that Amazon Mechanical Turk, which I’d originally intended to use to find those 100 strangers, is permanently closing at the end of September. We looked at alternatives and CloudResearch Connect seems like a promising replacement. Whatever service I ultimately use, I really like the basic format: one hour to build it, 100 strangers to judge it, and then SHELF IT or BIN IT.
Food-wise, today certainly wasn’t going to win any awards for restraint.
I headed over to Smitty’s for the pancake breakfast I’d been thinking about. Once I got settled into my booth, it became quite a spread. I had two poached eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, breakfast potatoes covered with ketchup, toast with spreads and, of course, a pancake. There was coffee and water on the table as well, and I propped up my tablet and watched some YouTube while I ate.
It was definitely not an AI Diet meal!
But I knew that when I went in. Rather than pretend otherwise, I decided to enjoy my Smitty’s breakfast and then get back to healthier eating afterward. Air-fried cauliflower with popcorn seasoning was one of the much lighter foods I had in mind.
Tonight I found myself back at McDonald’s reading Edwina’s book, and what I read seemed particularly relevant to that thought.
Edwina wrote about fasting and prayer and about the Lord’s Prayer being a kind of blueprint for bringing our desires into alignment with God’s will. She talked about how frustrating it can be when the things we desperately want don’t materialize, and she made an important distinction: having spiritual power isn’t simply about getting whatever we happen to desire. Our desires need to be considered in relation to God’s will.
That strikes me as somewhat different from some of the Neville Goddard material I’ve spent so much time exploring. Neville’s emphasis is on assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled. Edwina seems to introduce another question:
What if what I think I want isn’t what God wants for me?
She also wrote about the different ways God might communicate—through vivid dreams, spiritual impressions, Scripture that suddenly seems to leap off the page, or inspired words from another person. Most importantly, she described hearing God most clearly when she became willing to surrender her own will and sincerely wanted God’s will instead.
That was very much on my mind as I was leaving McDonald’s tonight.
I was feeling a little down. I was thinking about everything I’d just read, and I remember thinking that I would really appreciate a wink.
Just a little bit of love.
Then I had this feeling that I should swing by Superstore.
So I did.
I went over to the shopping carts and checked one of the coin slots.
There was a loonie.
One dollar.
Then I found another cart.
There was another loonie.
Another dollar.
I hadn’t found a toonie.
I’d found my toonie.
One loonie in one cart and one loonie in a completely separate cart.
$1 + $1 = $2.
And that immediately got my attention because this isn’t the first time this has happened.
The previous time I was looking for a toonie, I specifically remember saying something along the lines of, “Okay, let’s have fun with this. Let’s play a game.” And what happened? I didn’t find a toonie then either.
I found two loonies.
This time I don’t remember specifically saying, “Let’s play a game.” I wasn’t consciously trying to recreate the previous experience. I had simply been reading Edwina, thinking about spiritual impressions, feeling a little down and wishing for a little wink and a little love.
Then came the impulse to go to Superstore.
And then came the same peculiar answer.
Not a toonie.
Two loonies.
When I got home, I put the coins together and photographed them. One is dated 1987 and the other 1989. They’re going to stay together. I’m not spending these two.
Do I know that God or the Universe put those coins there for me? No. I can’t possibly know that. People leave coins in shopping carts, and coincidences happen every day.
But I’m not sure I need to solve it.
For me, what made tonight special was the entire sequence: reading about spiritual impressions, feeling down, wanting a little love, having the unexpected thought to go to Superstore, following it, and then finding the exact $2 I’d been talking about—in precisely the same strange form in which I’d received it once before.
Maybe it was coincidence.
Maybe it was a wink.
Maybe the important thing isn’t figuring that out.
Maybe the important thing is that for a few moments tonight, when I was feeling a little down and asking for a little love, something happened that made me smile.
And perhaps that’s enough.
Thank you.
I noticed.
