📋Additional Daily Notes

I spent part of the morning thinking about food in a very practical way. Not indulgent, not restrictive — just structural. I went back over ideas I’ve been circling for a while: SpudFit, the Complete Bowl, oatmeal and blueberries, boring meals that remove decisions. I wasn’t looking for a miracle. I was looking for something that could get me back under 290 without wrecking my head or my body. That led into a surprisingly detailed conversation about digestion and routine — specifically, how to design a plan that supports one calm bowel movement in the morning. It sounds mundane, but it felt grounding. Order before optimism.
I took my son to Poke Page this afternoon. He got the milk tea boba and I picked up a coconut boba along with one of their “Honolulu Dream” bowls. It was surprisingly much more delicious than I thought it would be (see photo to the right).
Later this evening I went to McDonald’s. I ordered a burger, fries, and a drink — nothing symbolic, nothing rebellious. Just familiar food. I sat there and finished watching The Last Picture Show. The ending with Ruth Parker hit hard. Not because it was tragic, but because it refused to rescue anyone. Two people sitting in shared loneliness, without promises or fixes. It felt uncomfortably honest.
That scene stayed with me. It echoed the fear that some lives don’t get second acts, and that maybe dignity is all you’re left with when hope runs out. I didn’t draw conclusions, but I didn’t push the feeling away either.
Nothing resolved today. But I didn’t disappear either.
And for now, that counts.
