πAdditional Daily Notes
Today started early with dropping my son off at school, and after that I headed over to Quality Foods in Courtenay. I went upstairs to “A Step Above”, and Iβm pretty sure this is the first time Iβve ever been there so early in the morning. I arrived around 9:00 and settled into one of the soft chairs facing the elevators. I had a raisin bun with peanut butter and jam and lots of coffee. I opened the Keith Moon biography on my Amazon Fire tablet (see photo to the right) and read the first ten pages. After finishing The Power of Now, this new book feels like a nice, easygoing shift. I can sense that I need to go a little easier on myself over the next couple of weeks while I start my Unified Manifestation Journal and figure out how it fits into my life.
I originally planned to surf the web while I was sitting there, maybe read up on my Unified Manifestation System and think about how to implement it, but the Internet wouldnβt work on my laptop at all. Normally Iβd try to troubleshoot it, but today it felt like a nudge to stop thinking so much and just relax. So I put the laptop away and kept reading. Every so often the elevator doors would open and close in front of me.
After leaving Quality Foods, I drove over to Shar-Kare and picked up two bags of Chick Grower chicken feed. From there I went to Costco. The car was getting low on fuel, so I filled up the tank first, and then went inside. I picked up two bags of potatoes, two bags of sweet potatoes, and one mini bag of potatoes because tomorrow Iβm starting a three-day potato cleansing diet to settle my digestion. While I was there, I had one of their Montreal sandwiches β kind of a corned beef sandwich β and I also got a sundae and a Coke Zero. It was rainy and misty outside, and at one point I almost slipped on their floor, which was slick enough that I ended up ordering traction pads for my Crocs when I got home.
After that I decided to go to McDonaldβs. I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal, with fries and a medium coffee. I sat at a booth in the back, but eventually had to move because two women sat behind me and were so loud I could hear them even through my earbuds. While I was there, I also picked up four of the Christmas coupon books they put out every year, the ones with the free coffees and cones. Iβm planning to put those into the Advent calendars Iβm assembling for the kids and give them out on December 1st. This was also the second time I tried speaking Tagalog to the cashier. She understood what I said and even replied in Filipino, though I didnβt catch what she said back. But she didnβt seem surprised at all.
After McDonaldβs I headed home. The weather stayed damp and a little gloomy, but it was one of those days that had its own rhythm. A little reading, a little wandering, a few practical errands, some food, some thinking, and a reminder that itβs okay to slow down. I can ease into this next phase instead of pushing my way into it.
