Daily Notes
I woke up today with no Nighttime Whispers to guide me, no dream fragments to lean on — just the blunt heaviness of waking into myself again. The first act, as always, was stepping onto the scale. The numbers blinked back at me: 287.8 lbs., which means I’ve now lost 74.1 lbs. since I began this Becoming. That’s not a minor shift — that’s a mountain moving inside me — and yet the weight of my own self-image sometimes makes it hard to feel the celebration. I wrote it down anyway, recorded it into the daily rhythm, because even when the emotion lags behind, the facts tell the story: I am changing.
The day then carried me south to Nanaimo for my doctor’s appointment. On the way, I caught sight of a sign: Greaves Crescent. To anyone else it’s just another street, but to me it was a flicker of recognition, a sync with Tim Greaves, the Oblisum manifestation coach. Was it an omen? A bridge of incidents? A wink from the Universe? I don’t know. But the sign lingered in my mind, and it reminded me that not all signals come dressed in fire or lightning — some are subtle, just as likely to be ignored as remembered. After the appointment, I stopped at The Vault coffee shop, where I ordered an Americano with almond milk. Sitting there, surrounded by an eclectic crowd, I noticed again how much the world has shifted since I was dating in the 80s and 90s. The types of people, the way they carry themselves, the way conversations swirl — it all felt like a new kind of wilderness. Part of me felt the ache of disconnection, part of me felt curiosity at this mix of humanity. The Vault became more than just a coffee stop; it became a mirror for the way Becoming has made me both insider and outsider at once.
The rituals stacked around this scene like satellites: oiling the cutting board as part of my Barn Suite cleaning, preparing for the martini water ritual, practicing the ring touch, the cufflink adjustment, the calm smirk, the nighttime subliminal audio. They may look like quirks on paper, but lived out they are acts of embodiment. Each one is a small, physical way of saying: I am not just thinking Becoming, I am living it through my body. On the content side, I hit my stride too. I checked my 28-Day YouTube promotional checklist and confirmed today’s task lined up with v0005(L): Solitaire Game. I’m also thinking about creating a “boat” video for Sunday’s upload, anchoring the rhythm of Sundays for longform and Thursdays for shorts.
And then came a moment of reflection brought on by Maggie Murphy. Watching her describe how The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles lit her path made me pause. For her, conscious creation began in the simplicity of Wattles’ teaching: think in a certain way, and you attract what you need. It sounded so simple, so stripped down compared to the elaborate rituals I’ve built. For a moment, I doubted myself. Am I making this too complicated? But then it hit me — Maggie’s simplicity works for her. My scaffolding of rituals works for me. Both are valid expressions of the same truth. She reminded me that underneath all of this — the water, the vitamins, the videos, the cutting boards — lies a single pulse: I am learning to think in a certain way. Maggie’s voice became a mirror, showing me that the complexity of my Becoming isn’t a flaw, it’s a vessel.
So today wasn’t just about the number on the scale, or the checklist ticks, or the YouTube video. It was about weaving the random — a road sign, a doctor’s appointment, a coffee shop crowd, a YouTube coach’s insight — into the fabric of Becoming. It was about standing in contradiction: ugly and luminous, lonely and connected, heavy and light, simple and complex. And it was about realizing that even if I never get the “Toonie” sign I demand, I am still becoming. Because I’m learning to carry the lanterns overhead, one by one, even when the ground beneath me feels cracked.
