The scale read 290.5 lbs, which means I’ve lost 71.4 lbs since beginning. Each number down feels like a door opening, a layer of the old life falling away. I’m not just losing weight, I’m shedding limits — stepping lighter into possibility.

I carried that momentum into my daily pillars — Metamucil, vitamins, collagen, and skincare. These may look small on paper, but each is a steady act of discipline, a way of saying yes to myself every day. By evening, I shaped my Nighttime Whisper prayer: a call for clarity, for unmistakable signs, for the next inspired action that is already waiting to be revealed.

2025-09-05 - Powell River Ferry

I also stepped out today. I mailed a letter at Shoppers Drug Mart in Comox, then crossed the street to Tim Hortons for a large coffee — they even added a splash of almond milk for me. With that scalding cup in hand, I drove out to Little River, where I filmed raw footage of the beach and the BC Ferry (see photo to the right). That material will find its way into a future video, carrying today’s air, water, and sound into the Becoming archive.

On the creative side, I began shaping my next long-form YouTube video: The Potato Ritual. At first glance it’s just a potato, but in its plainness it holds everything — the food that has carried my transformation, the root that sustains, the symbol of duality when cut in two. The final slice will be the heart of it, one becoming two, halves revealed and set side by side. Simple, but charged with meaning.

At home, the rhythms of family life wove through the day. Our son stayed home from school with a runny nose. He filled the morning with Duolingo French, Lego building, and a little multiplication before taking an afternoon nap. By evening he was well enough to practice violin and play with Ethan. Watching him reminded me that even in rest there is room for growth and play. Later, my daughter and I went for a long drive. She needed to talk about her first two days of classes and how she was fitting in with her classmates. The car became our little sanctuary, a moving space where her words could spill out freely and I could simply listen. Those drives remind me that Becoming isn’t just my journey — it’s about holding space for hers, too.

We’re also looking ahead to Sunday, when Shar-Kare will hold a “chicken exchange.” We’ll be picking up four hens for our rooster, Valentine, finally giving him the companions he deserves. It feels symbolic — creating balance, expanding the small circle of life we care for. Just as my rituals and whispers guide me, tending this little flock roots me in the tangible, the daily, the simple joys of life.

So the day ends with a sense of wholeness. Dreams, rituals, errands, coffee, footage, weight milestones, family, even chickens-to-come — all of it woven together into one fabric. The same message runs beneath it all: I don’t need to force outcomes or wait for perfect conditions. My task is to serve what I already carry, trust the signals, and let what is meant for me arrive in its time.
