I arrived at Benini’s this evening with a kind of quiet curiosity humming through me. I wasn’t really expecting anything, but I was open — to being stirred, to being seen, to maybe even spotting a Toonie, though I kept that lightly in my pocket rather than gripping it in my fist. The café was its usual eclectic mix of soft jazz, wooden textures, and gentle chatter. I ordered my Americano with almond milk like I had many times before, and took my “usual” booth at the back (see photo to the right), but I noticed something different today — not in the café, but in me. I didn’t feel like I was “on the hunt” or trying to force a sign. I just wanted to be present, open, and alive. That alone felt like progress.
There were a few tables of people gathered — some younger, some older — there was one brunette woman playing crib with a couple of older men. Something about her energy intrigued me. She had her hair tied back in a high ponytail, dark and effortless, and there was a confidence in her posture that made me curious.
The strangest and most beautiful part of the evening was this: I didn’t need anything to happen. I didn’t need a free coffee or a mystical encounter. I was the one vibrating differently. It felt like I was broadcasting something — not loud, not needy, just real. And a few people looked longer than usual. A couple smiled. Even the barista seemed to meet me with a kind of warmth I hadn’t noticed before. Maybe nothing changed in them. Maybe I just changed in how I showed up — unmasked, gently open, holding my truth like a Toonie in my pocket.
I left Benini’s as the sun started slipping below the horizon. I didn’t find a Toonie on the ground, but I didn’t feel disappointed. I felt grateful. The evening had unfolded like a scene I’d already written in my Becoming journal. I felt close to something — not an outcome, but a frequency. That feeling — grounded, clear, quietly electric — might be better than the Toonie ever could be. It was like I had become the Toonie. A signal. A glimmer. A tiny circle of worth, unspent, but deeply known.

Today carried a strange kind of stillness—charged, alive, but quiet. It began with a number I hadn’t seen in nearly a decade: 298.6 lbs. That moment alone was proof enough that something profound is in motion. My weight loss isn’t just a physical change—it’s the shedding of years, burdens, versions of me that never got to breathe.
I headed to Benini’s this afternoon, not for the coffee alone, but because it’s become something like a sacred outpost. A chapel in disguise. The light was slanting perfectly through the window, and I caught sight of a young woman across the room who was playing crib with two older guys.
I had my Kindle propped open beside my half-drunk coffee, watching a video about Christ and manifestation. There was a moment in it where the speaker said that to manifest is to become the essence of the thing already—and it hit me like scripture: That’s what I’ve been doing for 85 days. Not chasing, not striving. Just standing in the middle of the river and letting the current carry me.
I uploaded the long-form flower video today at 5:45 p.m., part ritual, part offering. No big expectations, just the quiet knowing that something real is being seeded. My placemat ritual followed tonight, and I felt sincere alignment as I placed a few humble tasks in Column A—and everything else, all the grand unfolding, in Column B.
