Daily Notes
When I was looking at the map yesterday I saw that there are actually three Starbucks in the Comox Valley. One of them is in the Thrifty Foods in Courtenay, so I planned a visit to go there this afternoon. A cute little brunette served me up my Americano with almond milk. I mentioned that “I’d been here before but this time feels different”. She nonchalantly said, no, it’s pretty much the same. I also commented on the size of the almond milk container that she gave me to pour my own almond milk and she agreed it was quite huge.

I then settled into a table near the back to watch videos from Tim Grimes and Maggie Murphy (see photo to the right). Tim spoke about a 90-day subconscious experiment, and I realized — I’m already deep into mine. I think I’m at Day 62. It made me wonder if something special might happen when I hit 90. Maggie’s message really hit me today too. She said that only a tiny fraction of people would see her video, and if you were one of them, it was meant for you. I felt that. Deep down, I knew she was talking to someone like me — someone who’s been quietly doing the work, showing up every day, whether there’s feedback or not.
I couldn’t help but think about the amount I’ve created — 20+ projects, guides, stories, rituals — compared to Maggie’s one book. Maybe all this needed to come through first. I laughed at the idea that someone should erect a gold statue of me, then turned somber wondering if I’ll just burn out before any of it pays off. But the truth is, I’m still here. Still in the chair. Still walking the aisles. Still asking questions. And even though I’m not performing or forcing, something is flowing through me. Maybe the most sacred part of all this isn’t what I’ll get — but who I’ve become while waiting for it.
