    • #5) Asking – Ask first for emotional relief and inner calm, then ask for solutions, guidance, pop-ins, signs, opportunities, ideas, or small favors. Ask openly without demanding exact outcomes or trying to control how the answer arrives.
    • #6) Releasing – After asking, stop forcing. Go live your life. Walk, drive, work, brainstorm out loud, drink coffee, move through ordinary moments, and allow ideas or clarity to arise naturally instead of mentally gripping for answers.
    • #7) Noticing – Pay attention to what returns — sudden ideas, emotional shifts, coincidences, synchronicities, timing, relief, unexpected opportunities, little “winks,” or moments that feel quietly meaningful. Then continue the conversation and relationship over time.

📋Additional Daily Notes

Monday, October 12, 2026 turned out to be one of those strange days where several completely different threads of my life somehow wound themselves together.

It was Thanksgiving Day here in Canada, but it was also something else for me: Day #0000 of Becoming Fit.

For the last little while, I’ve been thinking seriously about how to approach my health and fitness differently. I’ve spent enough of my life starting diets, making plans, doing well for a while, falling off, getting discouraged, and eventually deciding that I need another fresh start. This time I want to build something where there is no fresh start because there is no ending. There is simply continuing.

So I created a new master project in my Universal Planner:

#0025 — 🏃 Becoming Fit

The idea is considerably bigger than losing weight. Yes, I want to eventually get below 200 pounds. But I also want to walk farther, climb stairs easily, become stronger, improve my balance and mobility, use my rowing machine and weights, eventually go to the gym, and—this is the crazy symbolic goal—someday perform ten consecutive unassisted chin-ups.

THE TEN.

But perhaps the most important part of the whole project is the philosophy sitting right at the top of the spreadsheet:

THERE IS NO FAILED DAY. WHAT’S ONE USEFUL THING I CAN DO NEXT?

That’s the experiment.

If I overeat, I don’t restart. If I don’t exercise, I don’t restart. If I forget to track something, I don’t restart. If I have an awful week, I don’t restart.

I don’t even make up for yesterday.

I just ask what useful thing I can do next.

Today was deliberately designated Day #0000, the preparation and baseline day. Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, becomes Day #0001, and those numbers will simply keep increasing for as long as I continue this experiment. Day #0001 will happen exactly once.

I spent quite a bit of today getting the Universal Planner set up properly. #0025 is now a parent/master project, while my existing #0002 AI Diet project sits underneath it as the nutrition and weight-loss component. I moved the #0025 tab toward the beginning of the spreadsheet so I don’t have to scroll through twenty tabs every time I want to use it.

Then I realized something was missing.

I had built a very good description of what I intended to do, but there wasn’t anywhere to record the evidence of what I actually did.

So we built a Becoming Fit Activity Log at the bottom.

Instead of giving myself fourteen boxes every day and eventually feeling terrible because I only checked six of them, every row simply records something I actually did to become fitter. There can be five entries one day, one the next, and none at all on another. Nothing turns red. There is no compliance percentage. There is no streak to break.

The log records the date, automatic Day number, which part of Becoming Fit the activity belongs to, what I did or noticed, an optional result, how I felt, whether it was a milestone or discovery, and any evidence or link I want to preserve.

Above it is a little counter called:

🌱 BECOMING FIT EVIDENCE

By the end of today it already said:

Activities Logged: 3 • Notable Moments: 3 • Days Since Beginning: 0

I love that.

Instead of measuring how many things I failed to do, I’m accumulating evidence of things I did do.

One of today’s pieces of evidence was taking my official Day #0000 baseline photographs and video. I’ve already been taking weekly Wednesday photographs and videos for more than a year, and I’m going to keep doing those exactly as I have been. But today’s pictures are different. These are the official photographs of me at the starting line of Becoming Fit.

Someday, perhaps, I’ll be very glad I took them.

And strangely enough, that idea of recording the beginning connected with something else that happened this morning.

I had been listening to Michael Harner shamanic drumming as part of the Inner Fitness component of the program. I apparently fell asleep with the drumming playing.

And then I had one of the most vivid dreams I’ve had in quite a while.

I was in a large house. I experienced everything in first person, through my own eyes. I woke up in a bedroom by myself, with the door open, when a blondish-haired woman suddenly came rushing into the room. Somehow she felt like my sister, although she looked nothing like my actual sister.

She was tremendously excited.

Her arms were open and she was practically shouting at me:

“Turn the camera on! Turn the camera on! Turn the camera on!”

She kept insisting that I was going to want to record this. She wasn’t kidding. I would want to watch it afterward. She was sorry she’d awakened me, but I would absolutely want her to wake me for this.

And then I discovered why.

I had won $60 million in the lottery.

I was stunned.

Other people began arriving to congratulate me. One man who seemed like a brother or cousin was saying something about having either driven me to the store where I bought the ticket or encouraged me to buy it.

Eventually we went into a big living room where my extended family seemed to have gathered around a television. Everybody knew what had happened. Everybody was excited. I sat among them while some kind of lottery presenter or official appeared on television, apparently about to explain what happened now that our lives had suddenly changed forever.

And then I woke up.

The Harner drumming was still there.

It was Thanksgiving morning.

And I remembered the dream.

At 11:36 a.m. I made one of my little Universe recordings about it. Winning $60 million would certainly change a life. The mathematical odds of winning a lottery are ridiculously small, of course, and I don’t know whether dreams predict anything at all. But I couldn’t help thinking that if the Universe really was trying to tell me to buy a lottery ticket, there was one fairly obvious requirement on my end.

I needed to own a lottery ticket.

I also reminded the Universe that despite this sudden escalation from my usual requests to $60 million, I was still perfectly happy to receive my traditional Toonie.

And I still wanted what I’ve really been asking for all along:

direction and love.

I remembered hearing Abraham Hicks talk somewhere about lottery dreams and inspired impulses to buy a ticket, so I went looking for it. We found an old official Abraham-Hicks video called Winning the Lottery? Interestingly, the person asking Abraham the question begins by talking about having had a dream about winning the lottery.

That was enough synchronicity for one Thanksgiving morning.

So I decided to buy a ticket.

But then I started thinking about where I wanted to buy it.

As I understood it, retailers can receive some kind of benefit when they sell major winning tickets. If something completely ridiculous actually happened and this ticket won an enormous amount of money, I liked the idea of a little independent-looking place in a small community benefiting rather than simply buying it wherever was most convenient.

2026-10-12 - Lottery Tickets

The place that came to mind was the little gas-and-go store in Black Creek.

So I drove out there.

The autumn colours were beautiful. I bought a Lotto Max ticket for Tuesday’s draw and a Lotto 6/49 ticket for Wednesday’s draw (see photo to the right). I also bought my usual inexpensive scratch tickets—a $1 Gold Rush and a $2 Blackjack.

And then I stopped.

That’s important too.

I’m not going to start pouring money into lottery tickets because of a dream. I acted on the impulse. I bought the tickets. That’s enough.

I even photographed the tickets outside the little Black Creek store beneath the autumn-red trees.

If absolutely nothing happens, I still have a wonderful Thanksgiving story.

If something does happen…

Well.

Turn the camera on.

After Black Creek, I headed back toward Courtenay. I stopped at Thrifty Foods and bought half a cherry pie and a couple of chocolate bars. Later I went to McDonald’s and had my $5 McValue burger meal and black coffee. I got Monopoly pieces again, although there was no orange property this time—just ordinary property pieces.

And no $2 million lying on the ground either.

Apparently the Universe was taking the day off from Toonies as well.

The funny thing is that the cherry pie, chocolate bars and McDonald’s occurred on the very day I officially launched a fitness transformation.

Old me might have found something contradictory about that.

New experiment says otherwise.

Today was Day #0000.

Tomorrow isn’t punishment for what I ate today. I don’t need to starve tomorrow, exercise twice as hard, or declare that I’ll “really start Wednesday.”

Tomorrow is simply:

Day #0001.

That’s the entire point.

There was another curious connection between the dream and Becoming Fit that didn’t occur to me immediately.

The woman in my dream wasn’t screaming, “Go buy a lottery ticket!”

She was screaming:

“Turn the camera on!”

Record this.

You’re going to want to remember it.

And what did I do on Day #0000 of Becoming Fit?

I turned the camera on.

I photographed the body I’m beginning with. I recorded the starting point. I built an Activity Log designed to preserve evidence of what happens from here. Maybe someday I’ll look back through hundreds or thousands of entries and see the progression from short walks to long ones, from a handful of stairs to a hundred continuous stairs, from little dumbbell exercises to serious strength—and perhaps someday from being unable to do a single chin-up to doing THE TEN.

Maybe the $60 million was literal.

Maybe it was symbolic.

Maybe it was simply a particularly vivid dream produced by a sleeping brain with Michael Harner’s drumming playing in the background.

I don’t know.

I don’t actually need to decide.

But there was something wonderfully appropriate about beginning a project called Becoming Fit on the same morning that somebody burst into my dream and essentially told me:

Wake up. Something has happened. Turn the camera on. You’re going to want to remember this.

So I did.

The tickets are bought.

The Before pictures are taken.

The spreadsheet is built.

Day #0000 is recorded.

And tomorrow I don’t start over.

I continue becoming.
