📋Additional Daily Notes

Today felt like one of those in-between days. Not dramatic, not particularly productive in any obvious way, but steady… and a little reflective. The kind of day where nothing is really happening on the surface, but there’s a lot moving underneath.

I found myself thinking quite a bit about direction—where things are going, what decisions actually matter, and how easy it is to get pulled into reacting to whatever is right in front of you. The news, the markets, the noise. At one point I was seriously considering whether I should sell off some of my NVDA stock first thing Monday morning, just based on everything going on in the world. It’s interesting how quickly your thinking can shift when uncertainty shows up. One headline, one idea, and suddenly you’re ready to act.

But the more I sat with it, the more it felt like one of those “slow parts” I’ve been thinking about. Not everything needs an immediate response. Not everything needs to be fixed or figured out right away. Sometimes it’s just a moment to observe, to let things play out a little, and to stay aligned with why you made a decision in the first place.

That idea seemed to echo through the rest of the day. Even the video clip I’ve been working with—the one of the traffic slowing down—feels like the same pattern. You’re moving along, everything’s fine, and then suddenly things change pace. You don’t know why at first. It feels like a problem. But eventually you see it… and then you move through it. No big event, no resolution you can point to. Just back to normal again.

We ordered takeout Chinese Food from Wenjie Chinese Restaurant. My wife’s fortune cookie said that she would have some sort of a romantic relationship in Duncan.

Later tonight, I ended up at McDonald’s with a coffee (see photo to the right), sitting in my “usual spot”. It was late enough that things had slowed down there too. The usual movement was gone, replaced by that soft hum of lights and the occasional sound from the kitchen. Nothing special. Just a coffee on the table, warm light overhead, and a mostly empty space around me.

And for a few minutes, that was enough.

It’s funny how those moments can feel more real than the busy ones. No pressure, no need to be anywhere else, no urgency to decide anything. Just sitting there, noticing it. The kind of moment that doesn’t look like anything from the outside, but somehow feels complete while you’re in it.

I think that’s what today really was.

Not a breakthrough. Not a big move forward. Just a quieter part of the path. The kind you usually overlook if you’re in a hurry to get somewhere else.

But even in that… things are still moving.

Just a little slower.
