2025-10-31 - Coffee & Cookies

After the chaos of candy and costumes, I ended up at McDonald’s near Home Depot — my unofficial evening temple. A large coffee with oat creamer, then another one, with some of my oatmeal squash cookies (see photo to the right). This time I added maple syrup and they were delish!

Coffee in hand, I did my Stillness work, read my section of The Power of Now, and listened to Maggie Murphy’s new video about 4D presence. Between those two voices — Tolle and Neville, stillness and imagination — I felt that same bridge I’ve been crossing for months. What used to be a grind to “get there” now feels like letting go of everything in the way.

Somewhere in that calm I started thinking about the Philippines again — the charity project, the dream that’s been gently waiting its turn. I want to build a charity that will outlast me. I imagined how it would feel to build something enduring there. Not just handouts, but a kind of cultural ripple effect that helps people build their own stories. Every time I circle back to it, it feels less like an ambition and more like a calling.

Schindler’s List reminded me that transformation isn’t loud. It happens in whispers and choices, one person deciding to act differently while everyone else looks away. I thought about how the Philippines project could be that kind of act — not a big gesture, but a quiet rebalancing. I don’t want it to be charity in the traditional sense.
