📋Additional Daily Notes
I woke up slow today, body heavy from the COVID shot a few days back. The soreness in my arm has faded, but the fatigue hung on like a gentle reminder to stay still. The sky outside was gray, rain streaking the window, the kind of weather that says, don’t rush anything. I decided to take that as my cue.
Today marks Day 1 of my 30-Day Daniel Day-Lewis Experiment — my commitment to live, as fully as I can, in the identity of the man I’ve been becoming. Not acting, not pretending, but inhabiting. The word I drew for the day was Presence, and it turned out to be prophetic. My body didn’t want motion; it wanted awareness. Even getting out of bed felt like a scene shot in slow motion.

By late afternoon I logged my core rituals: weighed in at 314.6 lbs — down 47.3 from the start of this long road — took my vitamins, collagen, and evening skin routine. I noted the times in my tracker, not out of compulsion but as continuity; these habits are the scaffolding that keeps the character upright.
The rain kept falling, so I stayed in, editing a few lines for this log. Eventually I decided to honor a simple impulse: coffee. I drove to the McDonald’s (see photo to the right) near Thrifty Foods on Ryan Road, reciting the mantra as I opened the door — “Today I live from the end. I’m already him.” Right then, a gust of wind and a spill from the roof drenched my hair. Baptism by drizzle.
Inside, I chose to pay in cash — a Loonie and a nickel from my car instead of the usual tap. Brennan, a new kid at the counter, handled the order. I joked that he’d moved “to the Big Smoke now.” We talked briefly about the wild Cliff Street location, then he dashed to the back and a manager handed me my coffee. I found a seat, still damp, Kindle and notebook on the table.
No drama tonight — no coincidences, no mysterious signs, no Evie walking through the door. Just teenage boys at nearby booths, fryer noise, and the hiss of rain outside. Yet, as I sat there with my small coffee and one of my homemade oatmeal-squash cookies, I realized that’s the lesson: the Calm Multimillionaire doesn’t wait for magic; he rests inside it. The miracle is the quiet itself.
Later, scrolling YouTube, I drifted into Neville Goddard and Tim Grimes videos — the perfect bridge between imagination and relaxation. Grimes’ words landed: “The more relaxed we are in life, the more good stuff comes to us.” That feels like the secret these thirty days are meant to uncover.
Outer Scene: McDonald’s lights on wet pavement, steam from a paper cup, the sound of traffic fading in rain.
Inner Scene: Presence over performance. Calm wealth, quiet certainty. The man who has already arrived, sipping coffee while the world hums gently around him.
