📋Additional Daily Notes

That idea turned into something tangible today, because my “Persian Documentary” long video went live on the channel. It felt like one of those moments where the observation becomes the creation. Sitting there at Tim Hortons, watching history, reflecting on time and perspective—and then, that exact thread becomes a piece of content out in the world. Not a finished statement, but part of the process. Another step in documenting the journey rather than declaring conclusions.

2026-03-29 - Metal Hockey Player Cup Holder

There was also this small, quiet detail from yesterday that stayed with me today. My daughter bought me a metal hockey player cup holder (see photo to the left). It’s one of those simple, almost quirky things—but it stuck. A small, thoughtful gesture. Something physical, something real. And sitting there with my coffee, it felt like a contrast again—empires rise and fall over centuries, but a small gift like that somehow feels just as meaningful in its own way.

This evening, my wife’s friend and my daughter made Irish stew for us. Completely different atmosphere. Warm, present, grounded. No empires, no timelines stretching thousands of years—just a meal, shared in real time. The kind of moment that would never make it into a documentary, but probably matters more than most of the things that do. It struck me how easily life moves between these scales. One moment you’re thinking about civilizations rising and falling, and the next you’re sitting at a table, eating something someone made, in a moment that exists only once.

There’s something in that contrast that feels important. Watching history unfold on a screen while unknowingly living your own small, quiet version of it at the same time. The documentary shows what lasted, what was recorded, what became significant enough to remember. But days like this remind me that the real experience of life isn’t in what gets remembered—it’s in what’s happening right now. A cup of coffee. A thoughtful gift. A shared meal.

Maybe that’s the point of all of this. Not just to observe the past or react to the present, but to notice that we’re always in the middle of something that, one day, will also be the past. And if that’s true, then maybe becoming—the process of moving through it, noticing it, shaping it in small ways—is the only thing that’s ever really happening.
