2025-11-28 - Early Morning McDonalds

In the “wee hours” this morning I felt like trying something new, so at 2am I drove to McDonalds on Cliffe Street in Courtenay! I tried to order via the app, but when the credit card didn’t go through I paid at the drive thru window (see photo to the right). I took the food home to the Barn Suite where I watched YouTube videos and munched away…

Today I’m going to start my “Potato Reset” diet in which I eat only white potatoes with a bit of salt and mustard and nutritional yeast. I can have two liters of water and one small cup of coffee. I’m going to get info on my gut and how I can stop having so many frequent bathroom breaks!

Later this morning I mentioned that I’d been watching the new Beatles Anthology on Disney+. Paul said someone had been “relieved of their guitar,” which sounded like a gentle way of saying John stole it. I had the thought that living in Liverpool in those days must have been rough. The early Beatles came out of a pretty hard environment.

After that, we talked about fixing the pothole in my driveway. I got a clear step-by-step guide for gravel, tamping, and eventually adding asphalt. Later I updated what I actually did: filled the pothole with gravel, drove over it, and planned to let the rain clean it so I could add asphalt later.

More about this potato reset diet… I asked several times what I could eat on Day 1, and I got the clear rules: white or yellow potatoes only, with a small amount of mustard and nutritional yeast, plus water and one small black coffee after food. No tomato sauce, no eggs, no sweet potatoes, no ACV, no lemon, no extras.

We talked about which mustards are safe. Yellow, Dijon, and stone-ground were okay in small amounts. Spicy mustards, horseradish, chipotle, wasabi, and honey mustard were all off limits. Sweet potatoes were something I should avoid for the reset phase, so I agreed to skip them.

I confirmed that today I ate only potatoes, mustard, some salt, water, and one cup of black coffee. That meant Day 1 was perfect. I asked if I really had two more days of this, and the answer was yes: Days 1–3 are identical. Day 4 is the first reintroduction day.

We talked about egg whites, oatmeal, and what amounts would be allowed later on. I asked whether I could have unlimited oatmeal on Day 4 if I chose oatmeal as my one food, and the answer was yes, as long as it’s plain oatmeal cooked in water with no extras. If I chose egg whites on Day 4, then on Day 5 I could keep egg whites and add one more gentle food like oatmeal, rice, banana, or chicken breast.

I asked what “if they’re fine, you can move forward” meant. It meant that if a food causes no urgency, no loose stools, no cramping, and no gurgling by the end of that day, then the next day I can safely add the next food.

I asked for a list of ingredients in the ideal reintroduction order, and then again with amounts. The list went from oatmeal to rice to banana to egg whites to chicken and then gradually into cooked vegetables, sweet potato, toast, Greek yogurt, and finally a small amount of lettuce on Day 14.

I asked whether Day 14 meant I could eat freely from all the previous days plus a little lettuce, and the answer was yes. Then I asked for a “foods allowed after Day 14” list. That included all the foods from the reset plus many more once time passed, with caution foods after Day 20 and the highest-risk foods reserved for much later.

I then asked what happens if something “triggers” my system. The explanation was very detailed: without a gallbladder, bile is released constantly, so anything acidic, fatty, raw, sugary, or spicy speeds up digestion, causes urgency, loose stools, gurgling, and a full-body reaction. If that happens, going back to potatoes only for 24 hours resets everything.

Finally, I said that Maggie Murphy uploaded her first video in weeks and that I wanted to enjoy it slowly, not rush. I said I wanted to focus on my gut and diet right now and only do manifestation work when it feels inspired, because lately it has been starting to feel like work. I realized that manifestation isn’t supposed to feel like a job, and that I’m entering a gentler phase where I let things happen when they feel right instead of forcing them.

That brings me to now. It’s been a day of reflection about my body, my mind, my dreams, and the direction of my Becoming journey.
