Today began early — 5:30 am — with my Stillness Experiment framework. The purpose of these 30 days is becoming clearer: I’m not chasing the future man anymore — I’m recognizing he’s been here the whole time. Neville calls this “Living in the End.” Tolle calls it “Presence.” And I’m letting my nervous system relearn ease so creation can flow again.

2025-11-16 - Yellow Deli

Later in the day, my daughter came home from her Rotary Interact weekend, absolutely lit up. She’d been chosen to be a student leader for next year — a role she was clearly proud of. And then she told me something that landed deeper than anything else today. They asked each person to name three people who inspire them, and she chose:

  1. Billie Eilish
  2. Greta Thunberg
  3. Me

Hearing that honestly meant the world. Teenagers don’t throw praise around casually. For her to put me in that third spot — behind two global icons — hit something quiet and deep inside me.

By 7:29 pm, I was sitting in a new place — the Yellow Deli in Courtenay. I ordered their Reuben sandwich, had two coffees, and ended with a slice of coconut cream pie (see photo to the right). While I ate, I watched more of Dances with Wolves, the pace of the film blending perfectly with the warm, rustic atmosphere of the place. It was one of those soft-focus Sunday evenings that just feel right.

After eating, I headed home ready for tonight’s Maggie Murphy video: “Conscious Creation: The 2 Things We Can Control.” As I watched, it synced perfectly with the theory I’ve been forming. I don’t think you can have free will part-time. You’re either fully in control or you’re being guided by Divine Intelligence. And when I look at my life — the little impulses, the automatic decisions, the times I feel drawn somewhere for no reason — I can’t help but feel the subconscious and Divine Intelligence are either the same thing or intimately connected.

We make thousands of choices on autopilot. Why take one road home instead of another? Why feel pulled to Starbucks one day and not the next? My theory is that if the subconscious is constantly steering, and Divine Intelligence is constantly orchestrating, then most of our “decisions” are not decisions — they’re guidance.

What we control are only two things:

  1. clearing out the beliefs we don’t want our autopilot running on, and
  2. submitting the thoughts, images, and intentions we want created.

If I’m in a state of bliss, I can just let autopilot — that deeper intelligence — run the show.

After that, I wrote the line:
“Today I studied basic sentence structure in Tagalog.”
Just a simple observation — nothing dramatic — but true. I learned that Tagalog typically follows a Verb–Subject–Object (VSO) pattern, which still feels new and interesting.

It wasn’t a loud day. But it was warm, meaningful, steady, and honest. A day with stillness, growth, food, film, theory, and a moment from my daughter I’ll never forget.

A Becoming day — exactly as it unfolded.
