📋Additional Daily Notes

Today I eat cheeseburgers! I picked up some lean ground beef, provolone & cheddar, Silver Hills “Big 16” Bread the other day at Costco. Today was the day to try it out! DELISH! I had two!
Later this afternoon, before heading out for a coffee, things immediately took a turn. In the main house I clipped the chair Kristina was sitting in, which sent a chain reaction through the table—wine glasses crashing to the floor. Not exactly the smooth, composed moment I might have hoped for. It was jarring, and if I’m honest, I think I was already feeling off even before that happened.
Instead of lingering in that awkwardness, I stepped out and went for a coffee at Benino’s—ended up with a large London Fog, which felt like the right kind of drink for the moment. Something calmer, softer, less rushed. Sitting there, the day began to settle. There’s something about stepping away that lets things reset without forcing anything. No need to fix, explain, or overcorrect—just space.
On the way back, after getting groceries at Hughes Grocery I started noticing things. First, a small object on the ground, a toy hand grenade (see photo to the right) – just a novelty item, but striking in its symbolism. Disruption. Sudden change. It echoed the energy of the day—the crash of the glasses earlier. Then, a little further along, I noticed something else: a single lens from a pair of glasses, sitting near the curb. That one landed differently. A lens—literally a way of seeing. It made me pause. Maybe the thought about “wasted years” isn’t the full truth, just one way of looking at things.
Back home, the day settled into something simpler. I ended up looking at the details on a box of Annie’s mac and cheese—nothing fancy, just warm, predictable, and steady. After a day that had quietly stirred up a lot beneath the surface, that felt like the right place to land.
No big conclusions today. No decisions. Just awareness. And maybe that’s enough.
