📋Additional Daily Notes

Today unfolded in pieces, like a trail of small signals rather than one big event. I started out moving through familiar places—coffee shops, parking lots, storefronts—doing what has become part of my rhythm now: placing bright yellow newsletter business cards where real people might actually notice them. Bathrooms. Tables. Elevators. Food counters. The kinds of places where life pauses for thirty seconds and curiosity has room to breathe. It isn’t flashy marketing. It’s quiet, physical, local. But it feels real. It feels like planting seeds instead of shouting into algorithms.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I read a passage about not having the tools growing up—about trying to figure out life without guidance, without a father, without anyone really showing you the way. It hit harder than I expected. Not in a dramatic way. More like a slow recognition. That feeling of having to invent yourself from scratch. Of learning by trial, error, and bruises. Of always wondering if things would have been different if someone had just sat you down and said, “Here’s how this works.”

2026-02-04 - Beninos

Later, I found myself sitting with a coffee at Beninos (see photo to the right), listening to the hum of a café doing its quiet work. There’s something grounding about those moments. A reminder that life keeps moving even when your head is spinning. That there are still places where you can just exist without performing, explaining, or fixing anything.

The bright yellow business cards didn’t bring in any new subscribers…yet… Normally that might have sent me into doubt or frustration. Instead, it felt oddly neutral. Temporary. Like weather. I still believe it’s going to turn around. Not in a blind, desperate way—but in the way you trust a system you’ve been building carefully, piece by piece. If and when it does take off, it could open doors. Maybe even make the Philippines idea real. Not as a fantasy, but as something grounded and responsible. Something that lasts.

Underneath all of it, though, was something steadier: a sense that things are working. Not perfectly. Not instantly. But incrementally. Since starting the Little Red Book. Since recommitting to daily structure. Since choosing to act instead of just imagine. There’s movement now. Flow. Feedback.

I also kept thinking about my leg. About how long I’ve been putting it off. About how much energy gets wasted avoiding simple, practical steps. At some point, belief has to meet logistics. So that’s coming next. An appointment. Answers. A plan.

At one point I watched Eckhart Tolle talking about unhappiness. Then another video about “manifestation.” Both were interesting, but what stood out most wasn’t the theory. It was the contrast between ideas and action. Between watching and doing. Today, I did more than I watched. That matters.

Looking back, nothing about today would look impressive on paper. No big wins. No viral moment. No dramatic breakthrough. Just conversations, coffee, cards, thoughts, doubts, hopes, and quiet decisions.

But this is what building looks like.

Not fireworks.
Infrastructure.

Not fantasies.
Patterns.

Not waiting.
Moving.

One small anchor at a time.

And somehow, that feels enough for now.
